         STANLEY McDONALD MIGHTON.  

         
    Prominent in the legal circles of Battleford is Stanley McDonald
Mighton, a member of the well known firm of Sparling & Mighton. He
was born in Woodstock, Ontario, on the 9th of November, 1893, a son
of Thomas and Abigail (McDonald) Mighton, also natives of that prov-
ince.  The father was a prominent agriculturist of his native province,
where he spent his life. He died in April, 1894, and Mrs. Mighton passed
away in May of the year 1915.
   The grade and high schools of Saskatoon afforded Stanley McDon-
ald Mighton his education. He came west with his mother in 1908 and
subsequently enrolled in the University of Saskatchewan at Saskatoon
and the B. A. degree was conferred upon him in 1915. He received his
Master's degree the following year.  He then entered the law office of
H. G. Sparling at Battleford and was called to the bar in 1921. In 1922
he formed a partnership with Mr. Sparling and they have an extensive
and important clientele.  Mr. Mighton has brought to the profession
thorough training and innate ability and the future holds much in store
for him in a professional way.
   In July, 1923, Mr. Mighton was married to Miss Antoinette Prince,
a daughter of Alphonse and Josephine (Arcand) Prince. Mr. Prince is
a farmer in Battleford district and prior to engaging in agricultural
pursuits he was in business with his brother, the late Senator Prince.
In his political views Mr. Mighton is a Conservative and he is well in-
formed on all important questions and issues of the day.  He is ever
ready to lend his aid to any movement for the upbuilding of the com-
munity. His religious faith is that of the Catholic church. Fraternally 
he is identified with the Saskatchewan Bar Association and the Canadian
Bar Association and also holds membership in the Battleford Bar As-
sociation. Socially he is identified with the Canadian Club and the Battle-
ford Golf & Tennis Club.  He is one of the most promising of the
younger barristers of this district and has won the respect of his fellow
men, including his professional brethren.
