         PATRICK J. McCUE, M. B.  
         
   Among the representative members of the medical profession of the
Maple Creek district is Dr. Patrick J. McCue, who has practiced in Gull
Lake since 1910. He was born on the 2d of September, 1876, a son of
James and Margaret (Purtel) McCue, who were among the earliest
settlers of what is now known as the county of Dufferin, in Ontario.
Patrick J. McCue received his early education in the public and high
schools of Ontario and later took a three years' classical courst at St. 
Michael's College.  Entering the University of Toronto Medical College
in 1900 he received his degree of M. B. in 1904 and in the following year
became a licentiate of the College of Physicians of Ontario and at once
took up the work of his chosen profession. He remained in Ontario for
five years and in October, 1910, came to Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, where
he has since resided. Dr. McCue has attained a position of prominence
in his profession and in addition to his extensive practice has given much
time  and attention to the public health of the community in which he
lives.      
    Dr. McCue was married in 1906 and has five children: James, Mary,
Hubert, John and Phillip. Mrs. McCue, formerly Miss Angela Coughlin,
is an ideal mother and housewife and her friends in this community are
legion.  Dr. McCue has always maintained an active interest in civic
He served as mayor of Gull Lake during 1917 and 1918 and
inaugurated and brought to completion many movements for the benefit
of his community. He was a member of the town council in 1914. Dr.
McCue is a consistent communicant of the Catholic church and an active
member of the Knights of Columbus. He is a man of genial and pleasing
personality and enjoys the confidence and esteem of his professional
brethren and fellow townsmen.
