Saskatchewan Gen Web Project provides an online regional genealogical resources, maps, mailing lists, query boards, look up volunteers, photographs and history for researchers, residents and current generations to enjoy, preserve, and experience, our historical educational, architectural, and cultural, heritage. It has been an honour and pleasure to acknowledge the volunteers and contributions to Sask Gen Web, and its regions, the Saskatchewan One Room School House Project, Ancestor Recognition Project, Saskatchewan Cemetery Project, Tribute to Saskatchewan biographies - photographs and reminiscences and to the Online Historical Map Digitization Project It is with pleasure that these updates, and additions can be made to the relevant websites. Thank you very much for these kind submissions. With the help such as this it is hoped to make this as complete a resource list as possible. Thank You all of you.

Important Notice:

In the words of tj, an avid Saskatchewan historian: "An appeal goes out to preserve documents such as .. Old Telephone Books, Henderson's Directories and City Directories, Town Directories, Pioneer photos, letter, books, Co-op membership Books, Credit Union and Elevator Books, Grain Companies, Church Books , and Cattle Brand Books, School Records, Church lists, Homestead maps etc.

These are ALL documents listing names of residents of a community which should be preserved. Placing these records online, or duplicating them would help prevent losses of primary source documents for family genealogists. These could be digitized on a scanner/copier or with your digital camera/phone and the digital images sent in to the Saskatchewan Gen Web project. Then if you so desire, the hard copy originals could be submitted to a variety of choices; Museums, Archives, Libraries, Genealogy or Historical Societies, Family History Centers after being placed online here at the Saskatchewan Gen Web directly. Another option, is that if you choose a repository for the original item, that after donation, that the institution is requested to submit a digital copy to the Saskatchewan Gen Web. Another option to share the information upon an historical document or book would be to become a "Look up volunteer".

It is the intention of this site to make Saskatchewan genealogical information, locations, photos, history, local stories available to persons with a historical or genealogical interest in this area of Saskatchewan, Canada. There are no service charges or fees for use of this Saskatchewan Gen Web Project, and use of this site constitutes your acceptance of these Conditions of Use. This entire web site: https://sites.rootsweb.com/~cansk is dedicated to the online availability of Saskatchewan historical data.
