Oral Story-Parenteau- circa 1858

Courier de Bois were interesting to Queen Victoria

“Bring me your best from Canada, I do deploy you.”

The “best” was Joseph Parenteau t’was said,

He and son Alphonse sailed for England in fine stead.

Alphonse played in the palace garden so the story goes-

Until Queen Victoria beckoned him to visit with repose

Milk and cookies were served to the young lad

He had a nice visit with Queen Victoria so rad!

Father and son emerged with unique stories of glory

“We were admired for our Courier de Bois stories.”

Queen Victoria enjoyed her unique Canadian guests-

-And wished them success in their new life’s quest.
