Commemorating 2010 Year of the Métis Nation Anniversary is an opportunity to value the contributions of the 1885 Resistance in history, and to understand the stories of the Métis peoples of this time. "It is a painful story to tell, but it must be told. It is high time that we make that history come alive." said Premier Brad Wall when addressing a spring ceremony.Anniversary brings history to life.

The objective of the Saskatchewan Métis Nation History Project is an online project for those interested with the digital preservation of Saskatchewan Métis Nation history, recording the location of the 1885 Resistance events, celebrating the legacy of stories remaining, restored or commemorated by plaque or picture, the oral history of the people and places involved, digital capture of images, data, memories and recollections from those who were affiliated with the 1885 Resistance.

It has been an honour and pleasure to acknowledge these contributors to the Saskatchewan Métis Nation History Project. It is with pleasure that these histories, photos, reminiscences, poems and stories have been added to the Saskatchewan Métis Nation History Project website. Thank you very much for these kind submissions. With the help such as this it is hoped to make this as complete a history of the Saskatchewan Métis Nation 125 years ago as possible, as well as provide history and reminiscences of the 1885 era. Thank You all of you...
