1. BATKE, Adolf- Adolf was born in Poland on Jan. 19, 1867 and died Dec. 22, 1937 at Ebenezer. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Batke. Funeral was December 25, 1937. **** headstone states he was born in 1867, RM records state he was born in 1868



2. BATKE, Egan W.- Egan died August 19, 1928 at Fishing Lake, Saskatchewan. He was 20 years and 9 months. Funeral was August 22, 1928 with Rev. Ratchkaski. 



3. Batke, Julia- Julia was born in Poland and died June 17, 1947 in Yorkton at the age of 71 years. The funeral was on June 19, 1947 with Rev. Beutler.



4.  BETKER, Douglas- Nine-year-old Douglas Leroy Betker of Ebenezer was killed May 20, 1956 on his bicycle when hit by a car and died instantly at 7:50 p.m. Sunday. The mishap occurred on No. 9 highway just 11 miles north of Yorkton. Douglas was born August 1st. His parents were Fred and Amy (Kunkel) Betker. 



5. BETKER, Fred- Mr. Fred Betker was born on October 12, 1905, near Southey, Sask., into a family of four brothers and two sisters. In 1927 he came with his parents Ludwig and Carolina (Gerhardt) Betker into the Ebenezer area and it was here where he met Miss Amy Kunkel and wed the same on December 10, 1929. This marriage was blessed with ten children of which two sons preceeded their father in death, Clarence in infancy in 1934 and Douglas on May 20, 1956. Through his passing away he leaves to mourn his beloved wife, five sons and three daughters. Percy at Yorkton; Rene (Mrs. L. Dickie), Edmonton; Maxine (Mrs. R. B. Fallis) Edmonton; Hardy, Edmonton; and Dennis, Lionel, Frances and Theresa who are still at home. He also leaves to mourn in passing three sisters and one brother in the United States, one brother, Henry in B.C., and one sister, Mrs. Louis Zimmer of Ebenezer. He passed away on Monday, Feb. 9, 1959 at 6:30 p.m., at the Yorkton General Hospital of a brain hemmorrhage at the age of 53 years, three months and 28 days. Funeral service was conducted at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Friday afternoon, 2:30 p.m. with Rev. John Wollenburg officiating. Pallbearers were Oscar Fandrey, Bob Fandrey, Lawrence Patzer, Mansel Powell, Kenneth Smithson, Julius Wegner. 



6. BOHN, Howard - son of R. H. Bohn - August 1, 1942. Parents were Reinhold and Edna Bohn.



7. BOHN, Albert- Albert William Bohn died at Sec 6-28-3 W2nd on Jan. 29, 1923. He was 14 years 6 months and 13 days. Funeral was on January 29, 1923. Albert was the son of Gustav and Emma (Fenske) Bohn. 



8. BOHN, Alvin- Mr. Alvin Bohn, beloved husband of Constance Bohn of Ebenezer passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2003 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home at the age of 87 years. Alvin Wilfred Bohn was born in the Ebenezer district on April 21, 1916. He was the son of Gustav and Emma (Fenske) Bohn. He was raised on the family farm and attended Ebenezer Shcool. He was baptized at the age of 16 by Rev. William Hoover. Alvin married Constance Horn on October 28, 1942. The couple took over the family farm in the Ebenezer district until 1985 when they moved into Ebenezer. Alvin was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Emma; three brothers, Albert, Edwin and Reinhold; five sisters; Ruby, Ruth, Lilly Wegner, Bertha Helm and Irene Patzer. He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life, his beloved wife Constance; six children, Larry (Arlene) of Yorkton, Valerie (Garry) Holstein of Medicine Hat, Ab., Lionel (Brenda) of Regina, Valdene (Wayne) Belous of Hyas, Allan (Debbie) of Ebenezer, and Linda (David) Simpson of Regina; grandchildren, Ryan and Regan Bohn, Berkeley and (Monika) Holstein and Janelle Holstein, Jackie (Colin) Hoeppner, Carla (Arlyn) Hoeppner, Alana and Darren Bohn, Erin, Bryan and Kristen Belous, Bradley and Lailee Bohn, Scott, Becki and Brittany Simpson; great grandchildren, Leighton and Aurora Holstein, and Liam Hoeppner. The funeral service was held on Monday, September 8th at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Pastor Brent Eisner officiating. Pallbearers were Vance Bohn, Dale Bohn, Bob Kriger, Chesley Patzer, Darryl Patzer and Warren Ziolkowski. 



9. BOHN, Christof - Christof was born in Poland in 1840. He died June 2, 1915 



10. BOHN, Edwin- Edwin was born on September 27, 1911 in the Ebenezer District of Saskatchewan, a son of Gustave and Emma (nee Fenske) Bohn. Eddie as he was known to his family and friends, received his education at the Ebenezer Village School and then began farming on land five miles east of the village. On October 28, 1934 Ed was united in marriage to Gracie Gabert at the West Ebenezer Baptist Church. In 1940 the family moved to a farm 1 mile west of Ebenezer and in 1946 moved into the village and continued to farm there until 1973 when he retired. Ed passed away on Saturday, July 20, 1985 at the Yorkton Union Hospital following a stroke on Tuesday, July 16, 1985. He was 73 years of age. He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life, his beloved wife Gracie; two daughters, Marlene and her husband Arlan Fandrey and their children Kevin and Shelley of Yorkton; Elaine and her husband Harold Patzer and their children, Byron and Lorelei of Ebenezer; two brothers, Reinhold and his wife Edna of Ebenezer, and Alvin and his wife Constance of Ebenezer; one sister, Mrs. Irene Patzer of Ebenezer; and many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents, by one brother Albert, four sisters, Ruby, Lottie, Lilly Wegner and Bertha Helm. Funeral Services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Wednesday, July 24th, 1985 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Gordon Frieter officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Reubin Ziolkowski, Martin Arndt, Clifford Fairhead, Arnold Weinmaster. Active Pallbears were Marvin Helm, Vance Bohn, Kenneth Gabert, Larry Bohn, David Weinmaster and Dale Bohn. 



11. BOHN, Emma- born 1882, died 1969. Emma was born to Mr. & Mrs. Fenske. In 1902 she married Gustav Bohn. They had nine children, five daughters and four sons. 



12. BOHN, Gracie- Mrs. Gracie Bohn, widow of Edwin Bohn of Ebenezer passed away April 2, 1999 at Yorkton. Gracie was born July 27, 1912 on the farm in the West Ebenezer district of Saskatchewan. A daughter of Rudolph and Dolly (nee Katzberg) Gabert. On October 28, 1934 she married Edwin Bohn at the West Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers Randolph and Bert Gabert and a sister Elsie Lange. She is survived by two daughters, Marlene and her husband Arlan Fandrey of Yorkton, Elaine and her husband Harold Patzer of Ebenezer. Four grandchildren and three great grandsons. Kevin Fandrey of Yorkton, Shelley and her husband Darrell Nickel of Regina and their son Jason, Byron Patzer and his wife Trisha of Yorkton and their sons Brett and Nathan, and Lorelei and her husband Todd Diakow of Langley, BC. One brother, Gordon Gabert and his wife Katherine of Yorkton. Funeral Service was held April 5, 1999 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Casket bearers were Vance Bohn, Dave Weinmaster, Wayne Beleous, Dale Bohn, Larry Bohn and Allan Bohn. 



13. BOHN, Gustav- Mr. Gustav Bohn was born in Poland on October 18, 1877. In 1891 he migrated to Canada with his parents and made his home in the Ebenezer district. As one of Ebenezer�s pioneers he suffered much hardship in his efforts to make this rugged country a better place to live in and to make a comfortable home for his family. In 1902 he was joined in holy wedlock to Miss Emma Fenske. God blessed this union with nine children, five daughters and four sons. In the earlier part of May, Mr. Bohn became ill and was taken to the Yorkton hospital, where he passed away on June 12. Three children passed on before him. He leaves to mourn, his wife, three daughters and three sons, three daughters-in-law, and three sons-in-law, and six grandchildren. The funeral service was held on June 14, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church, with Rev. G. Beutler officiating. The following served as pallbearers; Mr. Aug. Zimmer, Mr. Louis Zimmer, Mr. John Reiman, Mr. Fred Katzberg, Mr. Bucholz and Mr. Fred Yanke. 



14. BOHN, Reinhold Howard- Reinhold passed away on September 17, 1994 at the age of 81 years. He was born in 1913. Funeral service was held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ebenezer, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, September 20, 1994 at 2:30 pm. Pastor Wayne Jorstad officiated. Pallbearers were Larry Bohn, Darryl Patzer, Lorne Fandrey, Lionel Bohn, Chesley Patzer and Arlan Fandrey. Reinhold was predeceased by his parents, Gustave and Emma (nee Fenske) Bohn; two brothers, Albert and Edwin; five sisters, Ruby, Ruth, Lilly Wegner, Bertha Helm and Irene Patzer; and an infant son who died at birth. He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life, his beloved wife Edna; three children, Vance and his wife Ardice and their daughters Cheryl and Jennifer; Carolyn and her husband Ivahn Dockter and their children Jonathon and Jill; Dale and his wife Judy and their daughters Joelle and Michelle; one brother Alvin and his wife Constance; and a host of other relatives and friends. 



15. BOHN, Ruby- Miss Ruby Bohn of the Ebenezer district passed away at the Victoria hospital on April 4, 1944 at the age of 25 years, one month. She was born in 1919. She leaves to mourn, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bohn, three sisters, Mrs. Julius Wegner, Mrs. John Helm, Mrs. Lawrence Patzer, three brothers, Edwin Bohn, Reinhold Bohn and Alvin Bohn; three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law; five aunts, six uncles, 31 cousins. The funeral service was held on April 7 in the Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. G. Beutler officiating. The following served as pallbearers; Gilbert Fenske, Earl Fenske, John Fenske, Arnold Patzer, Wilfred Grunert and Melvin Hoffman. The Bohn family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the Ebenezer Baptist Church and to all the relatives and friends who in the hour of bereavement so kindly showed their sympathy, love and help 



16. BOHN, Ruth - The baby daughter of Mr. & Mrs. G. Bohn died July 9, 1919 on Sec 6-28-3-W2nd, aged 4 months and 5 days. She was buried on Saturday at the Ebenezer Cemetery. We extend our sympathy to the sorrowing parents. 



17. BONNET, Annie- Annie Julia Bonnett was born in 1920 in Preceville, Saskatchewan. She died at 36-25-5-W2nd on March 10, 1926 at the age of 5 years, 10 months and 9 days. The Funeral was March 17, 1926. 




17A. DECKERT, August - August was born in Poland . He died January 21, 1933 at the age of 93 years and 28 days. Funeral service was January 23, 1933 with Rev. Schroeder. 



18. DECKERT, Fred - Died April 1, 1944 at the age of 23 years. Parents are S & L Deckert.



19. DECKERT, John� Funeral Services for the late John Deckert were held in the Ebenezer Baptist church on Wednesday, August 20, 1952 with the Rev. Fred Sonnenberg of Chicago, Ill., officiating. The late Mr. Deckert was born on September 28, 1892, in Ebenezer, and resided in the district all his life. He passed away on the previous Sunday. Pallbearers were Messrs. Gus Buckholtz, Fred Batke, Clifford Fairhead, Albert Hoffman, Sam Katzberg and Herbert Patzer. Left to mourn are five brothers, Joe of Yorkton, Sam of Ebenezer, Dave of Watrous, James and Wilfred of Detroit; and ten Sisters, Olga of Watrous, Bertha of Ebenezer, Edna and Mary of Regina, Louise, Mabel and Violet of Ebenezer, Gladys of Yorkton, Betty of Unity and Beatrice of New Westminster. 



20. DECKERT, Mary- Mary was born in 1880 in the U.S.A.. She died at Sec 28-27-4-W2nd on June 7, 1921. The funeral was June 10, 1921 (Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel) - Ebenezer News - The district was very much shocked on Tuesday night to hear of the death of Mrs. S. Dickert. Particulary sad is that fact that she leaves besides a large family of growing children and a two day old baby. (The Yorkton Enterprise, Page 7, Thurs., June 9, 1921) The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon from the home of the deceased. Reb. F. Orthner conducted the service. 



21. DECKERT, Samuel- Funeral services were held for the late Samuel Deckert in Ebenezer Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 25th with Rev. Beutler and Rev. Brisco of Yorkton assisting. Mr. Deckert, who passed away at the Yorkton General Hospital on Wednesday, January 22, 1947 was born on November 12, 1866. He came to Winnipeg in 1888 with his wife and two children where he resided for two years. He then settled in the Ebenezer district where his wife predeceased him in 1900. He later married Mary Walters who also predeceased him in 1921. In 1932 he was united in wedlock to Julia Effa and retired to the Ebenezer village. He is survived by his widow, six sons, ten daughters, John and Sam at home, Joe of Yorkton, Dave of Detroit, Mrs. Walters of Watrous, Mrs. Reimer of Regina, Mrs. Betker of Ravenscragg, Mrs. Jansen and Mrs. Pachal of Ebenezer, Mrs. Peebles of Yorkton, Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Janzen of Saskatoon and Mrs. Hoffman of Westminster. Twenty four granchildren, two great grandchildren and one sister.

23. DREGER, Andy- Andy passed away on Monday, June 25, 1984 at the age of 68 years. He was born in 1915. Funeral Service was held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, Saskatchewan on Friday, June 29, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. Clergymen were Rev. George G. Stainger and Mr. Gordon Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers were Harold Patzer, Arnold Patzer, Wilfred Patzer, Allen Patzer, Lawrence Zimmer and Clifford Fairhead. Active Pallbearers were Duane Dreger, Glen Dreger, Darryl Dreger, Ken Dreger, Raymond Stobbe and Donald Neibrandt. Andy was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Lydia Dreger, and Mrs. Emily Neibrandt; three brothers: Bennie, Edward and Paul. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Susan; three sons: John and his wife, Sharon, Regina; David and his wife, Chris, Ebenezer; Jason, Ebenezer; two daughters; Marita and her husband, Blair Engel, Regina; Melita and her husband , Richard Benko, Willowbrook; one granddaughter, Krisa Dreger, Yorkton; two sisters: Mrs. Olga Yurhscat, Vancouver; Anne and her husband, John Falkowski, Vancouver; two brothers: William, Ebenezer; Fred and his wife, Mary, Kelowna, B.C.

25. DREGER, Benjamin- Funeral service was held May 3, 1977, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, for Benjamin Dreger of Ebenezer, who passed away April 28. Pallbearers were Clifford Fairhead, Arnold Patzer, Wilfred Patzer, Allan Patzer, Harold Patzer and Lawrence Zimmer. Mr. Dreger was born at Ebenezer January 4, 1920, the son of Christopher and Emma Dreger. He received his education at Ebenezer and Lacombe, Alberta. He was baptized in 1931 and joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mr. Dreger served in the armed forces from 1941 to 1946, and after the war took up farming in the Ebenezer district until the time of his death. He is survived by four brothers, William, Paul, Frederick and Andrew; two sisters, Olga and Anne, two brothers-in-law, His parents, two sisters and one brother predeceased him. (Yorkton This Week, May 11, 1977, page 27) Bennie was born January 4, 1920 and died April 28, 1977 at the age of 57 years. Funeral Service was May 3, 1977 from the Baptist Church, Ebenezer with Pastors W. Andre and R. Bubyna officiation. 



26. DREGER, Christoph- Christoph was born November 22, 1870 in Poland, He died September 2, 1955. His wife was Emma Kunkel. Father was John Dreger. The funeral service was held September 6, 1955 with Rev. Hoffman. 



27. DREGER, Edward John- Born on Sept. 18, 1917, at Ebenezer where he received his education. He died in 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Lydia and Emily. He leaves to mourn by his sudden passing two sisters, Olga Yurkschat and her husband, Annie Falkowsky and her husband, all of Vancouver, B.C.; and five brothers William, Paul, and his family, Fred and his family, Andy and his family, and Benny, all of the Ebenezer area, three aunts. He died very suddenly at his farm home on Sept. 29 at the age of 42 years and 11 days. Funeral services were conducted at the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. John Wollenberg officiating. Pallbearers were Edwin Bohn, Wilfred Patzer, Arnold Patzer, Oscar Pembe, Clifford Fairhead and Lawrence Zimmer. 



28. DREGER, Emma- Emma was born August 12, 1879 in Lublin, Poland, She died June 12, 1956 at the Yorkton General Hospital. She was the daughter of Andrew and Amelia Kunkel. Funeral services were held June 17, 1956 with Rev. Hoffman. Emma was married in 1901 to Mr. Chris Dreger, the union being blessed with ten children, four daughters and six sons. Two daughters predeceased her, Lydia at the age of five and Emily (Mrs. Chas Neibrandt) in 1939



29. DREGER, Gustaf - Gustaf died on December 5, 1921 at Sec 18-28-3-W 2nd. He was 57 years and 9 days. 



30. DREGER, William- Mr. William Dreger of Ebenezer passed away on Dec. 6, 1996. He was born January 12, 1909 in the Ebenezer District, the son of Christopher and Emma Dreger. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Paul, Andrew, Edward and Benjamin, sisters Lydia and Emily. He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life, his brother Fred and his wife Mary of Kelowna, BC, sister Olga Yurkschat of Vancouver, BC and his adopted family of Glen and Sharon Dreger. Funeral Services were held December 12, 1996 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Casket Bearers were Heath Dreger, Jared Dreger, Diane Dreger, Darryl Dreger, David Dreger and Jason Dreger



  
31. EFFA, Frederick- Fred born May 4, 1859 to August and Christine (Klause) Effa in Poland. Frederick first married Pauline Zilke. Their children were August, Lydia, Adolf, Julius, Adeline, Gustave and Rudolph. Pauline died circa 1899. In January 1900 Frederick remarried to Julianna Lehman. They had children Elsie, Arthur, Waldemar, Otto, Martha, Alexander and Freda. Frederick and his family immagrated to Canada in 1921. Frederick passed away on August 16, 1926. 



33. FAIRHEAD, Mary- Mary Fairhead, beloved wife of Clifford Fairhead of Ebenezer, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on August 8, 1991 at the Plains Health Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 71 years of age. Mary was born in Hampton, Saskatchewan on November 21, 1919, the daughter of Nick and Mary Koroluk. She received her education at Anemone School and the Yorkton Collegiate, followed by Normal School in Regina. Once receiving her teacher�s certificate, she taught school at Archervile, Ebenezer and Wroxton. On June 9, 1946 at St. Andrew�s United Church, Mary was united in marriage to Clifford Fairhead. The couple was blessed with four sons. In 1954 she was baptized into the Baptist faith. Mary was predeceased by her parents; one son, Reginald in 1975 and a sister Margaret Forsyth of Saskatoon. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Clifford; three sons, Douglas (Patty) of Ebenezer; Gerald (Karen) of Carlyle; and Kenneth living at home; grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly and Brandon, Justin and June; four brothers, Bill of Kamsack, John and Peter of Yorkton, and Ernie of Edmonton; three sisters, Ann Basarsky of Moose Jaw, Pearl Basarsky of Edmonton, and Edith Roebuck of Yorkton. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 12, 1991 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ebenezer, Saskatchewan with Reverend Wayne Jorstad officiating. Pallbearers were Art Patzer, David Weinmaster, Arnold Patzer, Peter Steppan, Jason Dreger, and Ed Dickie. 



34.  FAIRHEAD, Pearl- Pearl was born in 1895 and died 1920. It is with regret that we report the death of Mrs. Fairhead of Kandahar. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gurall and had a relapse of the flu last week, from which she died on Saturday. The body was brought to Ebenezer on Tuesday and interred in the cemetery. A large number of mourners followed the body to its last resting place. The whole district extends sympathy to the bereaved family. 



35. FAIRHEAD, Reginald E.- Born 1951, died 1975. He was born to Clifford and Mary (Koroluk) Fairhead. 



36. FALK, Jacob - Mr. Jacob Falk of the Yorkton district passed away May 23, 1980 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. He was 71 years of age. Mr. Falk was born Dec. 9, 1908 in Peker, Russia. He was the son of John and Pauline Falkowsky. The family moved to Germany before coming to Canada and Saskatchewan in 1928. Mr. Falk was predeceased by his father, John; and his mother, Pauline; one sister, Martha. he leaves to mourn his passing five brothers, Alex of Kelowna, B.C.; David of Turo, Nova Scotia; John of Yorkton; Herb of Springside; Alf of Yorkton; one sister, Mrs. Mary Ohlmann of Hodgeville, Sask. Funeral services were held May 27 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Schellenbergofficiating. Pallbearers were; Jack Schaller, Ken Fandrey, Allan Janzen, Ken Welter, Herman Pachal and Lorne Fandrey



37. FALKENBERG, Eileen- Born 1916, died 1964



38. FALKOWSKI, Martin- Martin was born October 9, 1889 in Russia. He passed away at the Yorkton Union Hospital on August 9, 1960. His wife was Emily Hilcher. His father was Matin Falkowsky who was born in Germany and his mother Annie was born in Russia 



39. FALKOWSKY, John- The funeral service for the late John Falkowski was held in the East Ebenezer Baptist Church on March 20, at 2 p.m., with Rev. DeBoer of Springside officiating. Pallbearers were his six sons; Alex, Jake, David, John, Herbert and Alfred. John Falkowski was born on August 22, 1880, in Neukirch, Russia. In 1905 he was united in marriage to Paulina Hottman and their union was blessed with eight children. In 1928 the deceased came with his family to Canada, settling in the Fenwood district. In 1933 they moved to Yorkton and in 1946 retired from farming and moved to Ebenezer where he lived at the time of his death. He passed away on March 17, 1952 at the age of 71 years, six months and 24 days. He was predeceased by a daughter in 1944 and his beloved wife in 1950. Left to mourn his loss are one daughter, Mary (Mrs. Herman Ohlman) of Bateman, Sask.; six sons, Alex and David of Ebenezer, Jacob, John and Alfred of Yorkton and Herbert of Springside; two brothers, Martin of Ebenezer and Andrew of Kelowna, B.C.; one son-in-law; five daughters-in-law; 17 grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. 



40. FALKOWSKI, Martha - The East Ebenezer German Baptist Church lost a devout and faithful member by the death of Martha Falkowski, who passed away at the Fort San Sanatorium last week at the age of 27 years in 1944. The late Miss Falkowski was born in Russia on August 22, 1917 and for eight years resided in Germany where she obtained her early education. In 1928 her parents migrated to Canada, settling on a farm near Fenwood, where Martha completed her education. Five years later they moved to Ebenezer where Martha devoted her life to Christian living. In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, six brothers, and numerous relatives in Russia, Germany and Canada. The funeral service held in the East Ebenezer German Baptist Church was conducted by Rev. Bentler. Pallbearers were Messrs. Melvin Hoffman, Johnny Hait, Earl Fenske, Gilbert Fenske, Lorne Batke and Alvin Grunert. 42. FANDREY, Anton O.- Anton was born in Poland on Jan. 16, 1866. He died January 7, 1941. Anton married Pauline Mochk. They were blessed with eleven chilren. Ralph (Thelia Nehring), Richard (Sophie), Martha (Ralph Rieman), Fred (Alvina Sorge), Ed (Olga Patzer), Ida (Joe Niebrandt), Robert (Georgie Craig), Isabelle (Otto Hoffman), Elsie (Henry Lee), Annie (Frank Phillips) and Oscar (Betty Winebender) 



43. FANDREY, Pauline- Pauline was born in Poland in 1869 to August and Louisa (Rentz) Mochk (Muk,Moock). She Had a brother Emil and sisters Julia, Emily and Bertha. She died November 23, 1923 at Sec 3-28-4-W2nd



44. FENSKE, Adolph- Adolph was born in Russia. He died April 26, 1919 at the Yorkton Hospital. He was 30 years, 10 months and 11 days. Adolph was predeceased by 1 daughter Lily (at birth). He is survived by his wife Olga (Weidman), children Albert, Edna & Sylvia, parents John and Karoline (Aschner) Fenske, as well as 5 brothers and 2 sisters. 



45. FENSKE, John- The death of John Fenske, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. E. Hoffman, Ebenezer, on Tuesday, July 6, 1937 (25-27-4-W2) terminated forty-nine years of active and industrious life in Canada. Born in Poland, Russia, October 21, 1852 to Mr. & Mrs. Christian Fenske, the late Mr. Fenske, with his wife, immigrated to Canadian 1888. For a short time they resided at Langenburg, and then came by ox cart to Ebenezer where they engaged in farming until they retired in 1920, taking up residence in the village of Ebenezer. Since June 1936 he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Hoffman. He is survived by his wife, seven children, thirty-eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. One son, Adolph, died in 1919 at the age of 31, and two other children died in infancy. The funeral service will be held in the Ebenezer church on Saturday afternoon of this week, July 6, 1937 at 2 p.m. and interment will be made in the Ebenezer cemetery. 



46. FENSKE, Mrs. Karoline- Mrs. Karoline Fenske, formerly Karoline Aschner, died Monday, January 24, at the home of her son, Rudolf Fenske, Springside. She was born on January 6, 1850, in Belgatove, Poland. In 1872 she was joined in holy wedlock to John Fenske, and God blessed their union with 10 children, eight sons and two daughters. In 1888 she migrated to Canada with her husband and family and made her home in the Ebenezer district. On Monday, January 24, 1944, at five o�clock Sister Fenske passed away at the age of 93 years and 29 days. Her husband and four children passed on before her to eternity. She leaves mourn six children, namely, Emma Bohn, Ebenezer; Rudolf Fenske, Homestead; Reinhold Fenske, Sardas, B.C.; Fred Fenske, Rockford; Henry Fenske, Ebenezer; William Fenske, Ebenezer; six daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law; 39 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The funeral was held from Ebenezer Baptist Church on Friday, January 28. Pallbearers were Alvin Bohn, Reinhold Bohn, Earl Fenske, Gus Fenske, Gilbert Fenske and Melvin Hoffman. 



47. FIEDELLECK, William- William was born September 25, 1897 at Lemberg, Saskatchewan. He died March 15, 1980 at Ebenezer, Saskatchewan at the age of 82 years. Funeral Service was held Wed., March 19, 1980 - 2:00 p.m. from the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, Saskatchewan. Clergyman was Rev. E. Schellenberg. Mr. William Fiedelleck, beloved husband of Mabel Fiedelleck of Ebenezer passed away March 15 at his residence. He was 82 years of age. Mr. Fiedelleck was born Sept. 25, 1897 in Lemberg, Sask. He was the son of John and Caroline Fiedelleck. He came with his parents at the age of two and settled in the Ebenezer district. He received his education at West Ebenezer School. On April 11, 1928 he was united in Marriage to the former Mabel Zingbeil. The couple lived in Ebenezer where Mr. Fiedelleck operated the garage. Mr. Fiedelleck operated the garage for 40 years and in 1962 he became caretaker for the Ebenezer School. He worked at the school until 1975 when he retired. Mr. Fiedelleck was predeceased by four brothers, Martin, John, Albert, Ed; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Green, and Mrs. Martha Puddell. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Mabel; two sons, Alfred and his wife, Dorothy of Regina, Wally and his wife Janis of Pilot Butte; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel (Arnold) Pfeifer, Ebenezer; Miss Janie Fiedelleck of Regina; two brothers, Henry and Fred, both of Choiceland, Sask.; one sister, Mrs. Emily Hasper of Yorkton; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 19 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Schellenberg officiating. Pallbearers were Terry Pfeifer, Darcy Pfeifer, Wade Pfeifer, Leonard Fiedelleck, Trever Fiedelleck, and Don Ferridge.

49. GABERT, Dolly- Funeral service for the late Mrs. Dolly Gabert was held on Tuesday, November 23, at the East Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Hoffman officiating. Mrs. Gabert, nee Katzberg, was born in Winnipeg on January 9, 1890. She passed away suddenly in the Yorkton auxiliary hospital on November 21, 1954 at the age of 64 years. Mrs. Gabert came to the Ebenezer district with her parents in 1894 and she was married to Rolf Gabert in 1908. They farmed in the Springside area until four years ago when the couple retired and came to Yorkton to reside. Left to mourn her loss are her husband; four children, Elsie Large of Yorkton, Gracie Bohn of Ebenezer, Bert of Springside and Marvin at home; four grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. J. Batke of Ebenezer, Mrs. F. Gabert of The Pas, Man., Mrs. J. Muth of Saltcoats; and Mrs. D. Thomson of Rocanville; and three brothers, Ferd of Ebenezer, Sam of Yorkton and Henry of Snow Lake, Man. Pallbearers were Paul Klause, August Gabert, Emil Yanke, Alfred Grunert, Danny Gabert and Irving Batke. 
 


50. GABERT, Fred - Fred Dan Gabert was born in Poland on Sept 16, 1877. He died at S13-27-5-W2nd at the age of 63 years. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Ferdinand Gabert. Funeral was March 24, 1941. 
 


51. GABERT, Lena - Lena was born in Russia/Poland 1875. She died January 28, 1921 at the age of 46 years. ----- Ebenezer News ---- Mrs. F. Gabert died here on thursday after a long illness. Funeral was held on Monday from the church. Mrs. Gabert leaves a husband and a family of one son and five daughters to mourn her death. 
 


52. GABERT, Ralf - Funeral service for the late Ralf Gabert was held on Thursday, May 5, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Galambos officiating. Ralf died in 1960. Mr. Gabert was born on April 30, 1882, in Warsaw, Poland, and passed away in the Yorkton Union Hospital on May 2, at the age of 78 years. Mr. Gabert came to Canada with his parents in 1890, and for a time they resided in Winnipeg prior to coming to settle in the Ebenezer district. In 1908 he married Dolly Katzberg. They farmed in the Springside district until they retired in 1950, when they moved to Yorkton. Mrs. Gabert predeceased her husband in 1955 and a son also predeceased him in 1942 Mr. Gabert is survived by two daughters, Elsie Lange of Yorkton and Gracie Bohn of Ebenezer; two sons, Bert of Springside and Gordon of Yorkton, one daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law, and four grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Fred Grunert of Yorkton and Mrs. Paul Wallman of Portage la Prairie; three brothers, Robert of Yorkton, Fred of Brandon and William of Jedburgh also survive. Pallbearers were Fred Rieman, John Rieman, August Zimmer, Fred Hoffman, Irving Batke and Paul Klause. 
 


53. GABERT, Randolph C.- Died May 1, 1942 aged 25 years & 10 months
 


54. GOLTZ, Alfred (Alfonse)- Alfred Goltz, 27-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Goltz of Springside, died while being rushed to Victoria Hospital at Yorkton late Tuesday afternoon. Goltz had been caught in a binder which he was operating on his father�s farm, which severely lacerated his body. The body of the fatally injured man was discovered by the hired man, and he was placed in an automobile in an effort to get him to the Yorkton hospital in time to save his life. Severe hemmorhages caused his death when but a few miles from his home. Alfred was born in Poland February 2, 1907, and died August 14, 1934 at the age of 27 yrs, 6 months and 12 days.

57. GUREL, Andrew- Andrew Gurel was born in Poland August 9th, 1868 and died in Yorkton Hospital on Monday morning at 3 o�clock, May 30th, 1938 at the age of 69 years, 9 months, 21 days. In the year 1890 he imigrated to Canada and located near Ebenezer, Sask. In 1894, Mr. Gurel was joined in marriage with Miss Louise Lange, with whom he shared many joys and sorrows for 44 years. The marriage union was blessed with 9 children, of which five preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and four children, one son and three daughters, Elmer, Lucy, Ida (Mrs. G. Buchols), Ebenezer and Elsie at Winnipeg. Six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Fandray, Ebenezer and one sister in Germany. Mr. Gurel was baptized by Rev. Charl Zummach and joined the Baptist Church of Ebenezer. Funeral service was held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Wednesday, Rev. A. Rosner, the pastor and Rev. John Kuehn of Springside, officiating. 
 


58. GUREL, Elmer- Mr. Elmer Gurel of Ebenezer passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 20, 1987 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. He was 81 years old. Mr. Gurel was born July 10, 1906 at Ebenezer. He was the son of Andrew and Louise (nee Lange) Gurel. He grew up on his parents farm and received his education at West Ebenezer School. Following the completion of his education he started to farm. He was active on the farm until 1945 and in August of 1946 he moved into Ebenezer to take up residence. He remained at home until the day before his death. Mr. Gurel was member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church; being confirmed into the faith in June of 1924 by Rev. Reusch. Mr. Gurel was predeceased by his parents; five sisters, Wanda, Pearl, Lucy, Edith and Elsie. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life, three nieces and their husbands. They are Phyllis Melnychuk and her husband, Bill from Yorkton; Joyce McMurtrie and her husband, William from Yorkton; Ethel York, from Ponoka, Alberta. He also leaves three nephews, Clifford Fairhead and his wife, Mary from Ebenezer; Bill Fairhead and his wife, Francis and Leonard Fairhead and his wife, Phyllis. Both couples reside in Calgary, Alberta. Funeral services were held Monday, August 24, 1987 from Ebenezer Baptist Church with Pastor Gordon Freiter officiating. Pallbearers were Dennis Guse, Arnold Patzer, John Gurel, Robert Gurel, Herman Pachal and John Borchowitz. 
 


59. GUREL, Elsie- Elsie passed away on Monday, December 8, 1986 at the age of 82 years. She was born in 1904. Funeral Services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, December 10, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Gordon Freiter officiated. Pallbearers were Bob Gurel, Dennis Guse, Arlan Fandrey, Alvin Bohn, Arnold Patzer and Arthur Patzer. Elsie was predeceased by her parents; four sisters, Wanda, Pearl, Lucy and Edith; she leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life, one brother, Elmer Gurel of Ebenezer; three nieces, Phyllis Melnychuk and her husband, Bill of Yorkton; Joyce McMurtrie and her husband, William of Yorkton; Ethel York of Ponoka, Alberta; three nephews, Clifford Fairhead and his wife, Mary of Ebenezer; Bill Fairhead and his wife, Francis and Leonard Fairhead and his wife, Phyllis both couples residing in Calgary, Alta. And numerous grand nieces and nephews.

64. GUREL, Louise- Mrs. Louise Gurel, aged 101 years, of Yorkton passed away Feb. 5, 1973. Born March 24, 1871 in Poland, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Lange, she was educated in Poland and came to Canada in 1890. She was married to Andrew Gurel in Winnipeg. Predeceased by her husband Andrew in 1938, daughters Pearl, Lucy and Wanda, sons Leonard and Wilfred, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She leaves to mourn, a son Elmer Gurel and a daughter Mrs. Edith Bucholtz of Yorkton, and Miss Elsie Gurel of Yorkton. Funeral services were held February 8 from Ebenezer. Pallbearers were Jake Jansen, Albert Guse, Bob Gurel, Arnold Patzer, Sam Deckert and Andy Dreger. 
 


65. GUREL, Lucy- Funeral services for Miss Lucy Gurel were held in the Ebenezer Baptist church on Sunday August 9 at 3:30. Rev. Walter Stein of Ebenezer officiating. Lucy�s death came as a shock and her loss will be felt in the community and in the church of which she was a faithful member. She was born in Hamilton, N.D. on February 11, 1896 and passed away August 7, 1942 in the Queen Victoria Hospital, Yorkton. She leaves to mourn her loss her mother, two sisters, Elsie of Winnipeg and Mrs. Bucholz of Ebenezer, one brother Elmer and many relatives and friends. 
 


66. GUREL, Richard- The funeral service for Richard Gurel of Ebenezer was held Nov 7 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Richard was born in 1892 and died in 1966. Mr. Gurel had been a farmer in the district since 1912. He came to Ebenezer from Russia. Pastor N. Taylor conducted the funeral service. Burial was at Ebenezer. Pallbearers were Cliff Fairhead, Lester Lange, Rueben Pohl, John Gurel, Robert Lange and Frank Vaughn. Mr. Gurel is survived by three brothers, Albert and Jake of Edmonton and Otto of Vancouver and two sisters, Lydia Grunert of Edmonton and Bertha Lange of Orcadia.

68. GUREL, John Daniel- John passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the age of 60 years. Funeral Service was Saturday, September 10, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at the Glen Elm Church of Christ, Revina Saskatchewan. Kevin Vance officiating. Interment in Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matthew Nagy, Kerry Roberts, Rod Davis, Dennis Kriger, Ken Nagy, David Muller.

GUSE, Dennis- Dennis, beloved husband of Joyce Guse, of Ebenezer, Sk., passed away on Friday, September 1, 1995 at the Prairie Unit of the Yorkton Regional Health Centre in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, he was 65 years of age. Dennis and his twin sister Doreen were born on March 29, 1930 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He was the son of Albert and Elsie (nee Kimmel) Guse of the Ebenezer district. Dennis married Joyclyn Iris (Joyce) Hoffman of Ebenezer on June 25, 1952. As an adult, he became a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Ebenezer, being baptized by the Rev. Walter Hoffman in 1953. Dennis attended West Ebenezer School and was a graduate of Musker Engineering Institute of Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1983 Dennis was diagnosed with Parkinson�s Disease and farming became increasingly difficult. He retired in 1988. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce of Ebenezer, Sk., his mother Elsie Guse of Yorkton, Sk., his father-in-law, John Hoffman of Yorkton, Sk., his son, Cortland of Ebenezer, Sk., daughters Candace, Mrs. Gordon Franke of Chilliwack, B.C., Calla, Mrs. Robert Effa of Springside, Sk., and Colleen of Saskatoon, Sk., grandchildren, Nicole and Nicolas Franke of Chilliwack, BC, Rebecca and Carson Effa of Springside, Sk., and Jessica Guse of Saskatoon, Sk., sister, Georgina, Mrs. Elwood Reed of Fort Qu�Appelle, Sk., and his twin sister, Doreen, Mrs. Ernie Hoffman of Ebenezer, Sk., as well as his aunts, Vera and Vi Kimmel of Perkinfield, Ont., and uncle Jack Lewis of Quesnel, BC. He was predeceased by his father, Albert in August 1977, and his mother-in-law, Wilma Hoffman in June of 1980. A service of Comfort was held in the Chapel of Bailey�s Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 5, 1995. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, September 6, 1995 in the Springside Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Wayne Jorstad of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Casket bearers were Doug Fandrey, Art Patzer, Edwin Kittlewell, Bill Simpson, John Gural and Lawrence Kopeck.

71. HAIT, Harvey - Born June 4, 1936, died August 27, 1936 aged 2 months and 23 days. (twin to Harold Hait) No obituary was found, but following is a short excerpt from a published report of the inquest into Harvey and his mothers death. ----- Mrs. Mary Hait came to her death on August 27 at approximately 10 o�clock a.m. at the first crossing north of Ebenezer, and that Harvey Hait, infant child of Mary Hait, died at the Queen Victoria Hospital, Yorkton, at 12 o�clock noon on August 27 as a result of an automobile driven by Henry Hait, of which they were occupants, collided with a C.N.R. mixed train. This was the verdict of the corner�s jury after twenty-five minutes deliberation into the death of the Ebenezer mother and her three month-old baby, which occurred in one of the most tragic level crossing accidents in the history of the district. 

 


73. HAIT, Henrietta- Henrietta was born in Russia /Poland on Feb. 28, 1867, the daughter of John and Carolina (Neuman) Hoffman She married Gustuf Hait in 1892 at Lublinski, Gobirni, Poland. They immigrated to Canada in the spring of 1901 with their two sons, Carl and Henry. They later had Otto, Eldie and Lydia. . She died at Ebenezer on April 20, 1935. 
 


74. HAIT, Lydia - Lydia was born at Sec 18-28-3-W2nd in 1908. She died in December of 1922 at the age of 14 years, 7 months and 20 days. The funeral was held December 8, 1922. The entire community was deepley grieved to learn of the death at the Yorkton Hospital on Wednesday of Miss Lydia Hait, aged 14 years. Her death was caused by Scarlet Fever and last reports were to the effect that she was progressing favorably. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the family in thier great bereavement.
 


 
75. HAIT, Mary- Mary Fritzke was born in Volynian, Russia on Aug. 4, 1903. Mary married Henry Hait on Feb. 8, 1923 at Hubbard, Sask. Henry and Mary had Ervin, John, Fred, Walter, Harold and Harvey. She died August 27, 1936 at the age of 33 years, 22 days. The funeral was held August 30, 1936. 78. HELM, Marvin- Mr. Marvin Helm, beloved husband of Millie Helm of the Ebenezer district passed away Thursday, April 11, 1991. He was born March 16, 1929 at Yorkton, a son of John & Bertha (nee Bohn) Helm. He married on June 17, 1953 to Mildred Marjory Bruhn at St. Andrew�s Church in Yorkton. Predeceased by his father John in 1961, his mother Bertha in 1980 and a sister Norma Rogers in 1976. He will be remembered by his wife Millie, a son Brian and Denise and their daughter Melanie of Gorlitz and a daughter Brenda and Shaun and their children Jennifer and Blair of Saskatoon. One sister, Ivy Trombley of Scarborough, Ontario. Funeral Services were held April 16, 1991 from the Ebenezer Baptist church. Ivan Batke, Mervin Wegner, Ed Popein and Ernie, Larry and Clarence Hoffman were pallbearers.

82. HOFFMAN, Albert- Albert was born on March 15, 1914 at Ebenezer, Saskatchewan, the son of John and Alvina (Netz) Hoffman. He died in 1999. He was raised on the family farm. He attended many schools in the Ebenezer area, beginning at West Ebenezer, which all of his children later attended. On March 15, 1938, Albert was united in marriage with Olga Kurtz at Edenwold, Saskatchewan. To this union three children were born; Leona, Ivan and Gracen. The couple started farming in the Hamton area before moving to a farm near Ebenezer in 1940. In 1966 he semi-retired and moved to Yorkton where he lived until his death. He enjoyed retirement, socializing with friends on �Coffee Row�. Albert was baptized in 1954 and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church. Albert was predeceased by his father in 1958; his mother, in 1954; brothers Gus, Irving, Alfred and Hugo; sister, Alma; nephew Reuben Hoffman; sisters-in-law, Amada, Carol and Martha; and one brother-in-law, Rudolph Kurtz. He will be forever missed by his wife of 61 years, Olga of Yorkton; sons, Ivan (Ilse) Hoffman of Lethbridge, Alberta, and Gracen (Darline) Hoffman of Yorkton; daughter, Leona (Allan) Gerber of Valley City, North Dakota. Albert is also survived by sisters, Erica (Gerhadt) Falkowsky and Gertrude Kurtz both of Regina, Sask.; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 



83. HOFFMAN, Alma - Born April 7, 1916, died November 10, 1927. She was 11 years of age. The death occurred at Victoria Hospital. The funeral was held on Saturday, November 12, in the afternoon from the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. O. Ratschkowsky officiated. The pallbearers were Messrs. Edwin Bohn, Wilfred Hoffman, John Zimmer and Otto Gurel, all of Ebenezer. She is survived by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. 
 


84. HOFFMAN, Alvina- Mrs. Alvina Hoffman, age 74, was born January 6, 1880 in Poland and passed away Sunday, June 13, 1954 at the auxiliary hospital from a brain hemorrhage, followed by a stroke. Alvina was the daughter of Albert and Carolina (Faron) Letz. Her husband was John Hoffman. At the East Ebenezer Church on Wednesday, June 16, many friends and relatives gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased, who was a member of the church and Ladies� Aid. Rev. Lueck of Yorkton spoke in the German language and Rev. W. Hoffman in English. Pallbearers were Mr. Albert Hoffman, Mr. Wesley Hoffman, Mr. P. H. Hoffman, Mr. G. Falkowski, Mr. R. Kurtz and Mr. Eric Hoffman. 
 


85. HOFFMAN, Amanda- Born July 26, 1905, died Feb. 6, 1937. Amanda Ruttig married Gustave Hoffman on Dec. 15, 1929. They had Rueben, Stanley, Darlen, Irma and Doreen. 



86. HOFFMAN, Caroline- Caroline was born November 10, 1896 in Lublin Poland. She died October 11, 1960 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. She was married to William Hoffman on Dec. 15, 1914. Caroline & Whilhelm had the children Martha, Ruth and Eric. 



88. HOFFMAN, Emma- Emma Hoffman was born on February 8, 1901 at Sunnyside, Manitoba; a daughter of Daniel and Amelia (nee Pede) Ruttig. At the age of 12 years Emma moved with her family to the Ebenezer district of Saskatchewan. Throughout her formative years she took an active part in the farm chores and also established herself in the art of sewing and other forms of needlework. On December 21, 1921 she married Fred Hoffman of Ebenezer. The couple raised 5 children, all schooled at Langenau School where Emma and Fred had also attended. They retired to Yorkton in 1965. Fred passed away in 1971, and following that time Emma continued to maintain her home until such time as she entered the Yorkton and District Nursing Home on September 28, 1989. She had been a resident of the Nursing Home until the time of her passing on Wednesday, May 31, 1995. Besides her husband Fred, Emma was predeceased by a sister Lydia in infancy, and sisters Olga Welk, Amanda Hoffman, and Edna Ruttig; sons-in-law William Bjorgan and Daryl Carruthers. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her two sons, Ernie and his wife Doreen, and Clarence and his wife Ivis, all of Ebenezer, three daughters, Edna McKay and her husband Gordon of Enderby, B.C., Verna Bjorgan of Fort Qu�Appelle and Alice Carruthers of Airdrie, Alberta; five grandchildren, Blaine Hoffman, Meryl (James) Stock, Madge (Wesley) Braun, Harley Hoffman, and Chellan (Bob) Hilsden; three great grandsons, Richard, Ryan, and Jeffrey Stock. Also one sister Lena Grainger of Fort Qu�Appelle and one brother, William Ruttig and his wife Beatrice of Yorkton. Funeral service was held Saturday, June 3, 1995 at the Heritage Baptist Church in Yorkton. Casket Bearers were: Harley Hoffman, Jim Stock, Wesley Braun, Gordon Ramstead, Wayne Ruttig and Freddie Fenske 



89.  HOFFMAN, Ernie- Ernie Albert Hoffman passed away peaceful on May 5, 1999. He was born September 23, 1923 on the family farm, the son of Fred and Emma (Ruttig) Hoffman. Ernie was raised on the family farm. Ernie married Doreen Guse on July 14, 1951. There only child Chellan was born in 1967. Ernie was predeceased by his father in 1971; his mother in 1995; and three brothers-in-law, Bill Bjorgan in 1990, Daryl Carruthers in 1995 and Dennis Guse in 1995. He leaves to celebrate his life his loving wife Doreen; his daughter Chellan and her husband Dr. Bob Hilsden of Calgary; a brother, Clarence and Ivis Hoffman of Ebenezer; his sisters, Edna and Gordon McKay of Enderby, B.C., Verna Bjorgan of Fort Qu�Appelle, and Alice Carruthers of Airdrie, Alberta; sisters-in-law, Joyce Guse of Yorkton, and Georgina and Elwood Reed of Fort Qu�Appelle. Pallbearers were Bob Effa, Bob Francis, Tom Anaka, Harely Hoffman, Calvin Reed and Clinton Reed. 



90. HOFFMAN - Fred - Funeral service for Fred Hoffman of 286-2nd Ave. North and formerly of Ebenezer, was held Nov. 6 from Central Baptist Church in Yorkton. Fred Hoffman was born May 1, 1893 at Ebenezer, the son of Gottlieb and Pauline Hoffman, pioneer settlers of the district. He was raised on the family farm and began farming at an early age. On December 21, 1921 he married the former Emma Ruttig at Ebenezer and this year the couple would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple retired in 1966 and moved into Yorkton. Mr. Hoffman passed away November 2, 1971 at Yorkton Union Hospital following a brief illness. He was 78 years of age. Mr. Hoffman leaves to mourn his passing his wife Emma; two sons, Ernie and Clarence, both of Ebenezer; three daughters, Mrs. G. (Edna) McKay of Vancouver, Mrs. W. (Verna) Bjorgan of Indian Head, and Mrs. D. (Alice) Carruthers of Calgary; five grandchildren; three brothers, Hugo of White Rock, B.C. John of Ebenezer and Alto of Williams Lake, B.C. three sisters, Mrs. F. (Martha) Fenske of Rockford, Sask., Mrs. C. (Ida) Gabel and Mrs. Amy Zingbeil both of White Rock, B.C. Officiating at the funeral service were Rev. N. Taylor, Rev. M. Schultz and Rev. G. Rosch. Pallbearers were Lloyd and Weslie Hoffman, John Fenske, Allan Kramer, Lorne Grainger and Leslie Reiman. 



91.  HOFFMANN, Gottlieb- March 15, 1861 - December 10, 1936 - Parents were John & Christina (Richter) Hoffman. Born in Kurland (Corland) White Russia. Married Pauline Rieman(n) on October 16, 1884. Immigrated to Canada in 1890. Children - Rudolph, Gustave, Wanda, Adolph, Henry, Hugo, Fred, Martha, William, Frieda, Ida, John, Otto, Amy. 



92. HOFFMAN, Gustave- Gustav was born June 13, 1906 to John and Alvina (Netz) Hoffman. The funeral was held September 26, 1954 with the Rev. Hoffman officiating. The Churchbridge district was shocked and saddened by the death of Mr. Gus Hoffman on Wednesday, September 22, at 6 p.m., when he was accidentally killed while hunting. A 12-gauge shotgun was discharged while Mr. Hoffman was climbing through a fence. He was found by his son Stanley and rushed to Langenburg Union Hospital, but was dead on arrival. Mr. Hoffman was born in Poland forty-eight years ago. He came to Canada at the age of six. He was predeceased by his wife, (the former Amanda Ruttig,) eighteen years ago, and by his son, Reuben, exactly a year ago. He is survived by a son Stanley, aged 22, and by three daughters Mrs. Leonard Jabs, Mrs. Art Jabs, both of Churchbridge, and Doreen, who is attending Teacher�s College in Moose Jaw



93. HOFFMAN, Erwin (Irving)- Erwin Hoffman, 44, general merchant of Ebenezer, passed away at the Auxiliary Hospital from a heart condition on July 8, 1954. He was born in Germany on July 4, 1910 to John and Alvina (Letz) Hoffman and migrated to Canada with his parents, making his home in Ebenezer until his death. The funeral service was held in the Baptist Church on July 12. Rev. Walter Hoffman officiated. Mr. Hoffman was predeceased by his mother, Mrs. Alvina Hoffman on June 13. Left to mourn his loss are his wife, Alma (Fitzner); two sons, Larry and Allan; a daughter, Joan; his father, two sisters, four brothers and host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Messrs. Arnold and Allan Patzer, Alfred and Norman Yanke and Lawrence and Lesley Reiman. 



94.  HOFFMAN, John- John was the son of John and Carolina (Nueman) Hoffman. He was born on Nov. 20, 1880 at Volynian, Poland. John married Alvena Netz on Nov. 20, 1904 at Kris Groudenz, Germany. John and his wife and four children came to Canada in 1912. John died on July 6, 1958 at Ebenezer, Sk. Their children were Gustave, Hugo, Irving, Ericka, Albert, Alma, Gertrude and Alfred.



95. HOFFMAN, Martha- On March the 25, 1939 the Ebenezer community lost by death one of its best loved and highly respected members in the person of Mrs. Hugo E. Hoffman, (nee Martha Fenske). She was born on February 7th, 1895 at Ebenezer, Sask, and died suddenly in the Queen Victoria hospital of cerebral embolus at the age of 44 years, 1 month an 18 days. On November the 25th, 1914, she was united in matrimony to Mr. H. E. Hoffman of Ebenezer. This union was blest with six children. In the year 1907 Mrs. Hoffman was baptised by Rev. F. A. Blaedow and became a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Thursday, March 30th, which was filled to capacity by relatives and friends. Rev. Kyllo of Yorkton and Rev. Rosner officiated. Pallbearers were: A. Yanke, F. Badke, J. Reiman, F. Yanke, Wm. Gabert, F. Katzberg. The deceased is mourned by her husband, three daughters Gertrude, Ella and Dorothy, three sons, Melvin, Lloyd and Donald, her aged mother, Mrs. J. Fenske, one sister, Mrs. G. Bohn, five brothers, Rudolf, Springside, Rheinhold, Regina, Fred at Rockford, Willie and Henry at Ebenezer and many other relatives. 



96. HOFFMAN, Martha- Martha Hoffman was born on September 10, 1913 in Kamon Kosyrski, Poland, a daughter of John and Julia Falkenberg. In 1930 she emigrated to Canada and the Springside area where she did house work. On March 10, 1933 Martha was united in marriage to Hugo (P.H.) Hoffman. In 1934 daughter Grace came into her life. In 1934 she was baptized, joining the Ebenezer Baptist Church. In 1974 Martha and her husband retired from farming and moved into the village of Ebenezer. In 1986 her husband died and Martha remained in the family home until June of 1988 when she entered the Yorkton and District Nursing Home. Martha Hoffman passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 1989 at the Regina General Hospital after a brief illness. She leaves to mourn her passing her only daughter Grace and her husband Lorne Fandrey of Ebenezer ; four granddaughters; Brenda Fandrey of Regina, Lenore and her husband Pat Petryshen of Regina, Karen of Estevan, and Sherry of Yorkton; also two great grandchildren; Ashley and Taylor Petryshen; a sister Natalie Waldherr of Saskatoon; a brother Alex and his wife Leona Falkenberg of Winnipeg; a half-brother Lawrence Falkenberg; a half-sister Joyce Falkenberg; three sisters-in-law; Erma Gogel of Yorkton, Erica and her husband Gerhardt Falkowsky of Regina, and Gertrude Kurtz of Edenwald, Saskatchewan, a brother-in-law Albert and his wife Olga Hoffman of Yorkton. Martha was predeceased by her father John, mother Julia, a brother Rudolf, and her husband Hugo (P.H.). Pallbearers were Nelson Falkowsky, Gracen Hoffman, Arlan Kurtz, Larry Hoffman, Vernon Waldherr, Wilbert Waldherr



98. HOFFMAN, Hugo- (aka. P.H.) Hugo Hoffman was the son of John and Alvena (nee Netz) Hoffman. He was born November 17, 1908 in Schone Wolke Krise Graudense; Germany and died July 14, 1986 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. In 1912 the family came to Canada, settling in the Ebenezer district. Here Hugo was raised and received his education. In 1918 baptized at Goose Lake by Pastor Edward Wolff. On march 10, 1933 Hugo was united in marriage to Martha Falkenberg, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, with Pastor G.P. Schrader officiating. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life, his beloved wife, Martha; a daughter Gracie and her husband, Lorne Fandrey of Ebenezer; four grandchildren, Brenda Fandrey of Regina; Lenore and her husband Pat Petryshen of Regina; Karen of Weyburn and Sherry of Yorkton; a great granddaughter, Ashley Petryshen; a brother Albert and his wife, Olga of Yorkton; and two sisters, Erica and her husband Gerhardt Falkowsky of Regina and Mrs. Gertrude Kurtz of Edenworld, Saskatchewan. Mr. Hoffman was predeceased by his Father in 1958; his mother, in 1954; brothers, Gustav and Ervin in 1954, and Alfred in 1984; a sister, Alma in 1927; a nephew, Reuben Hoffman in 1953. Pallbearers were Ivan Hoffman, Gracen Hoffman, Garth Kurtz, Arlan Kurtz, Nelson Falkowsky, Mervin Falkowsky. 



99.  HOFFMAN, Pauline- Funeral services for the late Mrs. Gottlieb Hoffman (nee Reiman) was held in the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Monday November 1, with the Rev. Beutler officiating, assisted by Rev. Milbrandt of Medicine Hat. Mrs. Hoffman was born in Poland in 1864. Her death occurred in Springside at the age of eighty four years and ten days in 1948. Mrs. Hoffman and her husband immigrated to Canada in 1889. After living in Winnipeg for one year they took up homestead near Ebenezer. She leaves to mourn seven children; Mrs. Martha Fenske, Rockford; Mrs. Edith Pohl, Springside; Mrs. Amy Zingbiel, Yorkton; Hugo, Rosedale, B.C.; Frederick and John, Ebenezer; Otto, Rockford, 31 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Three daughters and five sons predeceased her. Pallbearers were Messrs. J. D. Reiman, W. Berndt, F. Grunert, Ralph Gabert, Rob Gabert and F. Yanke. 
 


100.  HOFFMAN, Ruebin Alvin - The late Ruebin Alvin Hoffman of Churchbridge, eldest son of Mr. Gustov Hoffman and the late Mrs. Hoffman, met with instant death on September 22, 1953 when he fell from the top of a loaded rack while hauling sheaves, suffering a brain haemorrhage and a broken neck. He was born in Ebenezer on April 4, 1931 and was in his 22nd year. He leaves to mourn, a heartbroken father, one brother-in-law, three sisters, one brother-in-law, two grandmothers, one grandfather, 11 aunties, 10 uncles, 28 cousins. The funeral service was held in the Baptist Church at Ebenezer of which Ruebin was a member and was conducted by Rev. Walter Hoffman. Rev. Herr of Churchbridge spoke words of comfort, and Rev. Thiessen of Fenwood spoke a few words at the graveyard. The pallbearers, all cousins of the deceased, were: Ernie Hoffman, Clarence Hoffman, Lorne Grainger, Nelson Falkowski, Larry Hoffman and Karl Grainger. Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Mr. Rueben Hoffman, 21 years old, who was accidentally killed on Tuesday. Rueben was one of the threshing gang working on the farm of W. Batke, six miles north of Churchbridge. Mr. John W. Yanke was the first to notice that Rueben�s team was standing and that he was lying on the ground behind the loaded rack. No one saw the accident occur but it is believed he died of neck and chest injuries. Dr. McKenzie of Esterhazy is acting as coroner.
 


101. HOFFMAN, Ruth- Born January 3, 1916 at Ebenezer, Saskatchewan. She was the daughter of Whilhelm and Caroline (Netz) Hoffman. She died February 16, 1941 
 


102. HOFFMAN, Wilhelm- Born April 6, 1889 at Wlodov, Poland. Whilhelm came to Canada in October of 1911. He married Caroline Netz at Ebenezer, Sask. Whilhelm farmed in the Ebenezer district. He died in November 1969.
 


103. ITTERMAN, Irma- Born April 26,1925 in Germany, died Feb. 19, 1939 in Ebenezer, Saskatchewan. Irma, along with her parents, Albert and Olga Itterman and brother Bert, came to Canada from Germany in 1927.



104. JANZEN, Harvey Boyd - Harvey died September 26, 1926 at Sec 2-27-4-W2nd. He was 4 months and 19 days of age. The funeral was held September 27, 1926 



105. JANZEN, Lance Nolan- Lance Nolan Janzen was born January 28, 1939 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He lived and went to school and Sunday school at Ebenezer until he entered the work force at age 18. He married Sharon Wilson of Birch Hills in 1968. Lance worked for the Department of Natural Resources for a number of years, then went to work for Agro Rock in Saskatoon. Then at the Cominco Potash Mine and moved to Delisle, Saskatchewan. Lance left Delisle to purchase the Rhein Hotel which he ran for eight years until failing health forced him to sell his business. Lance passed away Easter Sunday, March 30, 1997 at the Canora Hospital. Lance was predeceased by his father, William Janzen. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his wife, Sharon Janzen of Yorkton; his mother Violet Janzen of Ebenezer, his brother Wayne (Mary Anne) Janzen; two nieces, Wendy and Carla, both of Saskatoon, one great niece, Jocelyn of Saskatoon. Prayers were held Wednesday, April 2, 1997 from Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel. A service of Remembrance was held Thursday, April 3, 1997 from Ebenezer Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Jorstad officiating. Interment followed in the Ebenezer Cemetery with David Janzen, Allan Janzen, Dr. Stan Janzen, Glen Betker, Daryl Pachal and Carla Potzus serving as casketbearers. 107. JANZEN, Susanna- Mrs. Susanna Janzen of Ebenezer passed away at the age of 76 years on July 19, 1947 at the Yorkton General Hospital. Mrs. Janzen was born in Russia on Jan. 2, 1870 and came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Wallman, in 1876. In 1887 she was married to Mr. William Jansen and later moved to Canada and settled in the Yorkton district. In 1920 they took up residence in the village of Ebenezer. In 1934 her husband predeceased her. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. G. Beautler from the Ebenezer Baptist church on July 22. Pallbearers were Messrs. Fred Katzberg, Edwin Bohn, Dan McLachlan, Bob Fandrey, Chas Niebrandt and Sam Deckert. She leaves to mourn her loss six sons, Jake, Dave and Billy of Ebenezer, Joe of Winnipeg, Mike of Hamilton, Ont, and Andy of Sedalia, Alberta; four daughters, Susie of Nokomis, Katie of Hassan, Lilly of Sturgis, Annie of Ebenezer; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jake Waldner of Nipawin; 31 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.



 108. JANZEN, Wilhelm (William)- William was born 1862 in Russia. He died at the Queen Victoria Hospital on October 8, 1934 at the age of 73 years. The funeral was held October 10, 1934

114. KADING, Matilda- Born in 1887, possibly in Poland. She died in 1924. Her parents were Milla (Hoffman) and unknown Zielkie. Matilda married Adolph Kading. According to family stories, Adolph and Matilda came to Canada in the spring of 1914. They had 3 children. Evolt born in August of 1914, Walter born in October of 1915 and Dinah born in 1916. 



115. KIRCHNER, Sam - Sam was born in Russia. He died May 17, 1927 at the age of 54 years. Funeral was May 10, 1927 



116. KATZBERG, Fredrick G.- Frederick Gottlieb Katzberg was born near Lublin, Poland on June 30, 1870 and died in1945. He came to Canada in 1889 at the age of nineteen. He was converted and baptized in 1898. On April 11, 1899 he was married to Ida Hoffmann at Ebenezer. There were eight children from this marriage, four sons and four daughters. Two children predeceased him. He died Sept. 26 at the age of seventy-five years. The funeral was held on Sunday, Sept. 30 at West Ebenezer Baptist church with the Rev. Kanwischer officiating. Rev. Embree of Berean Chapel, Yorkton, assisted. The pall-bearers were nephews of the deceased: Fred Katzberg, Sam Katzberg, John Zingbeil, Albert Zingbeil, Wm. Fedellick and Lawrence Zimmer. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, six children, Anna (Mrs. H. A. Shauer) of Yorkton, Ida Bertha of the U.S. Army Nurses Corps in Calcutta, India; Otto of Whitehorse, Y.T., Ella of Langenburg, Allan of Winnipeg and Reuben of Orcadia. He is survived by two sisters in Canada, Mrs. Pauline Zingbeil and Mrs. Augustina Stebner, both of Ebenezer and as far as is known by two brothers and one sister in Poland. He leaves one grandchild, Lona Clarissa Shauer. 



117.  KATZBERG, Ida- Funeral service for the late Ida Katzberg (formerly Ida Hoffman), 88, of Kelowna, B.C., formerly of Ebenezer, was held in Central Baptist Church on August 20. Rev. Walter Kerber officiated. Pallbearers were A. Effa, F. Grunert, L. Lang, J. Knoll, P. Hebert and E. Jonat. Mrs. Katzberg was born in Poland in 1877 and died in 1965. She came to Canada and the Ebenezer district in 1897 and was married in Ebenezer in 1899 to the late Fred Katzberg. She lived there on the farm until 1954 when she moved to Kelowna. She is survived by three sons, Otto of Grandview, Missouri, Allan of San Antonia, Texas, and Ruben of Orcadia. Two surviving daughters are Mrs. Ann Schauer of Kelowna and Miss Ella Katzberg of Langenburg. Mrs. Julia Kinde is her only surviving sister. She was predeceased by an infant daughter in 1912, a son William in 1920, and her husband Fred in 1945 and a daughter, Bertha Gray, of San Francisco in 1961. 



118. KATZBERG, Louis- Death claimed another old-timer of the Ebenezer district on Feb. 20, when Louis Katberg passed away at the age of 77 years, at the Queen Victoria hospital after a prolonged illness. The late Mr. Katzberg came to Canada in 1888 with his wife who predeceased him two years ago. He was a resident of Winnipeg for two years, and thereafter moved to Ebenezer district where he carried on farming until 1938. In 1941 he moved to the village of Ebenezer where he resided until his death. The funeral service was held in the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Saturday, February 24, with the Rev. G. Beutler of Ebenezer and Pastor G. A. Batke of Swift Current officiating. Pall bearers were Sam Deckert, Wilfred Zingbeil, Bert Gabert, L. Batke, Laurance Katzberg and Laurence Zimmer. He leaves to mourn his loss one brother, Fred of Orcadia, Two sisters, Mrs. F. Zingbeil and Mrs. J. Stebner of Ebenezer; two sons, Fred and Sam of Ebenezer; three daughters, Mary of Winnipeg, Mrs. Fred Gabert of The Pas, and Mrs. J. Muth of Rocanville, also fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren. 



119.KATZBERG, Pauline- Pauline was born in Poland to August & Carolin (Heltier) Deckert. She died September 15, 1942 at NW-25-27-4-W2. She was 72 years of age. The funeral was held September 20, 1942. 



120.  KATZBERG, Wilhelm F. - Born Feb. 9, 1900, died February 7, 1920. His parents were Fred and Ida (Hoffman) Katzberg. The death occurred at the home of his father in the Orcadia district on Saturday, Feb. 7, of William Katzberg, age 20 years. The funeral took place on Monday.



121. KIELO, John Albert - Born September 21, 1879 in Ontario. He died at Sec 14-27-5-W2nd on March 22, 1917 at the age of 37 years, 5 months and 25 days. 



123. KEILO, Mrs. Mary - Mary died at Queen Victoria Hospital on February 4, 1920 at the age of 65 years. She was born in Germany. 



125. LANGE, Gottlieb - Gottlieb was born in Poland. He died September 23, 1932 at the Queen Victoria Hospital. 



126.   LEHMAN, Olga - Born 1907, died 1953



127. LIEBREICH, Olga- Born May 15, 1893, died July 6, 1942. Olga Schweichel married Adolph Liebreich on May 2, 1912 and a few weeks later they immigrated to Canada. They were blessed with Ralph, Edmund, Herbert, Ervin, Mervin, Norman, Beatrice & Violet.



128. LUEBECK, Anna - Anna was born in August of 1868 and died in June of 1924. Word was received on Monday morning of the death of Mrs. J. Leibeck of West Ebenezer. Mrs. Leibeck only arrived from Germany about six weeks ago, but has been suffering for twenty years. Diabetes was the cause of death and the sympathy of the entire district goes out to the bereaved family. She is survived by her husband, Rev. 130. MACDONALD, Scott Boyd- Scott Boyd MacDonald of Edmonton and formerly of Ebenezer, Saskatchewan, passed away at his home in Edmonton on January 16, 2002. He was 36 years of age. Scott was born on February 19, 1965 at the Yorkton Union Hospital, the son of John and Margaret �Peggy� MacDonald. He grew up in the Ebenezer district attending elementary school there; he graduated from the Yorkton Regional High School in 1983. Scott was baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Scott attended a year of Bible School in Edmonton, where he later made his home. For the last thirteen years Scott was employed by Ikon Document Services. Scott leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his loving parents, John and Margaret �Peggy� MacDonald of Yorkton, his brother, Robert (Launa) MacDonald of Yorkton, his sisters Betty (Wayne) Nygren of Richmond, BC, Beryl (Sheldon) Schultz of London, Ontario, Jackie (LeRoy) Moser of Princeton, BC and Janet (Don) Hill of Ardrossen, AB. He was predeceased by his brother, David Bruce in April, 1958, his grandparents, aunts and uncles and several cousins. A service of comfort was held Friday, January 25, 2002 from Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel with Reverend Brent Eisner presiding. A memorial service was held Saturday, January 26, 2002 from Ebenezer Baptist Church with Reverend Brent Eisner officiating. Following the memorial service the urn was interred in the family plot at the Ebenezer Town Cemetery with nephew, Jordan Hill serving as urn bearer. 



131. MACDONALD, John Bruce - John Bruce MacDonald passed away after a brief illness on April 14, 2005 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre at the age of 87. John was born on July 2, 1917 in the Saltcoats district. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife and constant companion, Margaret (Peggy) nee Paterson; his children, Elizabeth (Betty) and Wayne Nygren (South Surrey, BC); Beryl and Sheldon Schultz (Kelowna, BC); Jackie and Leroy Moser (Kelowna, BC); Janet and Don Hill (Ardrossan, Alta); Robert (Bob) and Launa MacDonald (Yorkton); ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his brother, Hector (Saskatoon); his sisters, Rae MacDougall (White Rock, BC) and Marion (Gary) Johnston (Kaslo, BC); He was predeceased by his parents, two sons, Scott (2002) and David (1958), four brothers and three sisters. John grew up in the Saltcoats area on the family farm and as a teen went to work on a farm in the Nipawin area. Three years later, Peggy, who he had been dating , came and told him that two of her brothers, his younger brother Colin and his friend had enlisted in the service when World War ll broke out. John biked eight miles to Nipawin that day to enlist as well. He took his basic training in Regina and Winnipeg and left for England in January. His brothers, Hector and Willie also later enlisted and served in Europe. While serving in Europe, his regiment fought 82 separate battles in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. During that time he was a signal man with the South Saskatchewan Regiment for five and a half years. He was devastated when his brother Colin was killed at Dieppe in August 1942. After the war ended, he returned to Canada in July of 1945. On October 6, 1945 he marred Peggy. They moved to Yorkton . Then in 1950 they moved to Ebenezer. he was baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in 1956. Funeral Service was at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Monday, April 18, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Officiated by Pastor Brent Eisner. Legion Funeral Rites: Padre: Ed McManus, Sergeant-At-Arms: Al Morley. 133. MILBRANDT, Rosalia - Rosalia was born 1878. She died at the Queen Victoria Hospital on July 21, 1937 at the age of 61 years. The funeral was held July 24, 1937 with Rev. Rosener. 



134. NEIBRANDT, (Dreger) Emily- Emily Dreger, beloved wife of Charles Neibrandt, who was born August 23, 1904, at Ebenezer, entered into rest on February 11th ,1939 at the home of her parents. For four years she suffered with tuberculosis, three years and nine months of which time was spent in the sanatorium at Fort San. As she had a great desire to come home it was made possible for her to spend the last three months of her life at the home of her parents, where she received the best of care. She endured her suffering with great patience and cheerfulness and the end came peacefully. On April 4, 1928, she was united in marriage to Charlie Neibrandt. This happy union was blessed with three children, the eldest of whom died in infancy. At the age of fourteen years Sister Neibrandt accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized on confession of faith by the Rev. Ed. Wolf. The death of Mrs. Neibrandt is mourned by her husband; two sons, Donald and Lornie; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christ & Emma (Kunkel) Dreger; her grandmother Mrs. Kunkel; six brothers, Willie, Paul, Fred, Andrew, Edward and Benjamin; two sisters, Olga (Mrs. R. Yorkshat) of Kelowna, B.C., and Annie (Mrs. J. Falkowsky) Fone Hill; Funeral services were held in the Ebenezer German Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 14, the Rev. Aug. Rosner officiating. 135. NEIBRANDT, Mrs. Charles (Frieda)- The death of Mrs. Charles Neibrandt of Ebenezer occurred in Queen Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, June 25, 1941. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Minke, and was born in Orcadia on June 7th, 1914. She married Charles Neibrandt on July 12, 1940. The funeral was held from the West Ebenezer Church and was largely attended, with Rev. W. Stein officiating. Pallbearers were Messrs Alfred Grunert, Weslie Goltz, Albert Effa, Daniel, Randolph and Henry Gabert. The late Mrs. Neibrandt is survived by her sorrowing husband, two stepsons, Donald and Lorne. Her mother and father, three sisters and seven brothers.

137. OLM, Helen- Helen was born in 1906 and died in 1947. The funeral of the late Mrs. G. Olm was held on Feb. 19 at the home. Pallbearers were Messrs. F. Katzberg, G. Procyshyn, E. Bohn and S. Katzberg. She passed away at Fort San. 



138. OLM, Irving- A bright young life came to an early end in Victoria Hospital recently in the passing of Irving Olm of Ebenezer. The late Mr. Olm was born on May 27th, 1911, in the Ebenezer district, where he resided most of his life. He died in 1934. Early in February he became ill and was rushed to Victoria Hospital, where an operation for appendicitis failed to save his life. The funeral service was held on February 11 in the West Ebenezer Baptist Church, Rev. A. G. Knopp of the Melville Evangelical Church officiating. The service was attended by approximately three hundred people. Rev. Knopp based his sermon upon the words from 2 Cor.5:1. He leaves to mourn his death his mother, Mrs. Peter Schmidt of Melville; two brothers, Gus and Joe of West Ebenezer; Mrs. Mildred Smithson of Yorkton; Martha and Olga of Yorkton; Mrs. August Grunert of Ebenezer, and Elsie and Grace, with their mother at Melville. His father, the late August Olm predeceased him in 1917. Pallbearers were Messrs. Eddie Toronitz, Geo Potzas, Tony Bruhn, Louis Dutz and R. and Dan Gabert.

140.  PATZER, Arnold M - Arnold Milton Patzer passed away on Friday, October 22, 1993. He was 76 years of age. He was born on June 14, 1917 at Ebenezer, a son of Edward and Emma (nee Zichau) Patzer. On June 20, 1946, Arnold was united in marriage to Gladys Zimmer. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Karen and Charlene. On August 1, 1978 his wife Gladys passed away. Arnold was predeceased by his wife, Gladys in 1978; father Edward in 1978; mother Emma in 1965; a brother, Lawrence in 1974; sister-in-law, Irene in 1993; and a brother-in-law, Edward Fandrey in 1982. He leaves to mourn his passing two daughters, Karen and her husband Darryl Young of Victoria, B.C., Charlene and her husband Neil McConnell of Regina, Sask.; two grandchildren, Joy and Christy McConnell; three sisters; Olga Fandrey of Yorkton, Edna (Reinhold) Bohn of Ebenezer and Alice Mayer of Calgary, Alberta; four brothers; Eric (Olive) of Yorkton, Wilfred (Frances) of Ebenezer, Allen (Lyla) of Ebenezer and Harold (Elaine) of Ebenezer. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 26, 1993 from the Ebenezer Baptist Churchwith Pastor Wayne Jorstad officiating. Pallbearers were Darryl Patzer, Dale Bohn, Vance Bohn, Byron Patzer, Lorne Fandrey and David Patzer. 
141. PATZER, Cheryl Frances - Cheryl was born in 1952 and died in Dec of 1952 at the age of 26 days. Her parents were Wilfred and Frances (Horn) Patzer. The funeral was held December 8, 1952 



142. PATZER, Erwin Lawrence- Lawrence was born October 25, 1920 at Ebenezer, Saskatchewan and died July 24, 1974 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Funeral Service was held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, Saskatchewan on Friday, July 26, 1974. 
 


143. PATZER, Gladys- Mrs. Gladys Patzer, beloved wife of Arnold Patzer, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 1978 at Yorkton Union Hospital. Born November 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Louie and Lydia Zimmer of Ebenezer. She was united in marriage to Arnold Patzer June 20, 1946. Funeral services were held August 4 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband Arnold; two daughters, Karen (Mrs. Darryl Young) of Victoria, B.C., and Charlene of Saskatoon; one sister, Alyce (Mrs. Louis Dutz) of Springside; one brother Lawrence Zimmer of Ebenezer. Pallbearers were her nephews Arlan Fandrey, Ken Fandrey, Lorne Fandrey, Vance Bohn, Darryl Patzer, and David Patzer. Her funeral card states her full name is Eleanor Gladys Patzer, Clergyman for the funeral was Rev. Wes Andreas. 
 


144. PATZER, Irene- Mrs. Irene Patzer, widow of the late Lawrence Patzer, passed into the presence of her Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 1993 at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was 72 years of age. Irene Martha Patzer was born on August 12, 1920 on the family farm in the Ebenezer district, the youngest of nine children born to Gustav and Emma (nee Fenske) Bohn. Irene was raised on the family farm and attended Ebenezer School. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Patzer on February 12, 1943 and the couple made their home on a farm in the district. They had two daughters Janet and Diane. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 1974; her father in 1944; her mother in 1969; four sisters; Ruth in infancy, Ruby in 1944, Lily Wegner in 1977 and Bertha Helm in 1981; and two brothers, Albert in 1922 and Edwin in 1985. Irene leaves to celebrate her life her daughters, Janet Klassen of Victoria, B.C. and Diane Weinmaster and her husband David of Yorkton; her grandchildren, Joanna and Cameron Klassen and Paul and Nolan Weinmaster; two brothers and their wives, Reinhold and Edna Bohn and Alvin and Connie Bohn. Funeral services were held on Friday, February 19, 1993 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ebenezer with Pastor Wayne Jorstad officiating. Casket bearers were Larry, Vance and Lionel Bohn and Darryl, Chesley and David Patzer. 
 


145. PATZER, Karl (Carl)- Carl was born in 1887 in Russia. He died May 27, 1949 at the age of 62 years. The funeral was held on May 31, 1949 with Rev. Beutler. 
 


146.  PATZER, Louis- Louis Patzer was born to Karl and Rosina Patzer on July 17, 1928, on the family farm near Ebenezer, Saskatchewan. He grew up on the family farm with his brothers and sisters. He attended West Ebenezer Public School and the Yorkton Collegiate Institute from which he graduated with his senior matriculation. He worked as a miner in Sudbury, Ontario and the Alberta Wheat Pool at the Vancouver Grain Terminal. He retired in 1988. On August 19, 1955, Louis was united in marriage with Ruth Greeley in Vancouver, British Columbia. They resided in North Burnaby Louis was predeceased by his parents, a brother and sister, and his wife Ruth, who passed away in March of 1994. Louis passed away in his home Friday, April 4, 1997. Leaving to mourn his passing are, his stepdaughter Shirley Smith, four brothers; Herbert Patzer of Swan River, Manitoba; Arthur (Pat) Patzer of Ebenezer, Saskatchewan; Fred (Wilma) Patzer of Cookstown, Ontario; Alvin (Elaine) Patzer of Yorkton, Saskatchewan and three sister; Elfreida (Jim) Grey of Edmonton, Alberta; Ella (Wes) Hoffman of Wainwright, Alberta; and Elizabeth (Ron) Helwig of Edmonton, Alberta. 
 


147. PATZER, Mary L.- Mary L. , beloved wife of Arthur Patzer of Ebenezer passed away Dec. 3, 1980 at the Yorkton Hospital. Mary Lillian was born November 4, 1934 at Ceylon, Saskatchewan, a daughter of Alfred Leo and Lillian Frances (nee Graves) Roberts. Mary was united in marriage to Arthur Patzer on October 11, 1958. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Arthur, two sons Sheldon and Greg of Ebenezer , two daughters, Rhonda and Carol of Ebenezer. Her mother Frances and her husband Harold Looysen of Pangman, Sask., three brothers Kelvin Roberts of Pangman, Rev. Harry Roberts of Calgary and Dr. Doug Roberts of Victoria, B.C., two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Moroz of Kamloops, B.C., and Mrs. Winnie Clews of Pangman. Mrs. Patzer was predeceased by her father Alfred in 1939. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 6,1980 from Ebenezer Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Dennis Roberts, Kenneth Miurhead, Garnet Clews, Clayton Hoffman, Kelvin Patzer and Dale Bohn. 


 
148.  PATZER, Patricia Jewel - Patricia died January 21, 1948 at the age of 3 months and 15 days. Patricia was the daughter of Wilfred and Frances (Horn) Patzer. The funeral was held January 22, 1948. 
 


149. PATZER, Rosina- Rosina Patzer of Ebenezer, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 1991 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She was 91 years of age. Rosina was born on February 28, 1900 at Teklowka, Russia. She was the daughter of Andreas and Eleanor (nee Schmidtke) Grams. In 1909, at the age of 9 years, Rosina moved with her family to West Prussia where she completed her elementary education. While living in Germany, she entered the work force when she was 16 years of age. As a young woman, Rosina emigrated to Canada settling in the Ebenezer district in 1925; the same year she met and married Carl Patzer. The couple farmed in the Ebenezer area. In 1960, she retired from the farm and moved into the village of Ebenezer where she lived when illness forced her to enter the hospital. Rosina was a dedicated member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rosina was predeceased by her two children: Henry and Erma; her husband, Carl in 1949; three brothers; Ludwig, Wilhelm, and Heinrich; four sisters: Juliana, Augusta, Matilda, and Ottilie. She leaves to mourn her passing, five sons: Herbert of Swan River, Manitoba, Louis and his wife, Ruth of Vancouver; Arthur and his wife, Pat of Ebenezer; Fred and his wife, Wilma of Cookstown, Ontario; Alvin and his wife, Elaine of Yorkton; three daughters: Elfreida and her husband, Jim Gray of Edmonton, Alberta; Ella and her husband, Wes Hoffman of Wainwright, Alberta; Elizabeth and her husband, Ron Helwig of Edmonton, Alberta; eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Terry Neufeld, Gerald Patzer, Curtis Patzer, Allan Patzer, Harold Patzer and Greg Patzer. 
 


150. PATZER, Wilfred- Wilfred Patzer was born on November 20, 1919 in the Ebenezer district, a son of Edward and Emma (nee Sichau) Patzer. After receiving his education, Wilfred farmed until April of 1941 and then served in the army until December of 1945. Following the war, he returned to home and continued to farm until 2001. On August 15, 1945, Wilfred was united in marriage to Frances Horn. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters and three sons. The couple made their home on the farm until 1985 when they moved into the village of Ebenezer where Wilfred resided until his passing on Thursday, November 14, 2002. He was 82 years of age. Wilfred was predeceased by his daughters, Patricia and Cheryl; a sister in infancy and by his brothers, Eric, Arnold and Lawrence. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Frances; his son, Darryl and his wife, Colleen and their children, Clinton, Carrie (Richard) Kyle, Travis (Sherri), Kathryn (Dallas) Lundell and Wyatt; his son Chesley and his wife, Barbara and their children, Adam (Sarah) and James; his son Robert and his wife Hazel; one great granddaughter, Avery Kyle; his brothers, Allan (Lyla) and Harold (Elaine); his sisters, Olga Fandrey, Edna Bohn and Alice Mayer. Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 16, 2002 from Ebenezer Baptist Church with Pastor Brent Eisner officiating. Wilfred was laid to rest in the Ebenezer Cemetery with David Weinmaster, Dale Bohn, Allan Bohn, Warren Ziolkowski, Lionel Bohn and Kevin Fandrey serving as casketbearers. 
 


151.   PFEIFER, Jack - Mr. Jack Pfeifer, beloved husband of Mary (nee Holstein) of Yorkton, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 1987 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. He was 81 years of age. Jack was born July 1, 1905 at Stornoway where he grew up on the family farm and attended school. On December 27, 1926, Jack was united in marriage to Mary Holstein. During their sixty years of marriage, they raised a son and daughter. Mr. Pfeifer was predeceased by his parents, Phillip and Mary, three sisters, Lizzie, Margaret and Susan, also two in infancy; three brothers, George, Henry and Adam. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life his loving wife, Mary; one son, Arnold and his wife Hazel of Ebenezer; one daughter, Frances and her husband, Ken Smithson of Ebenezer, three sisters, Katie Ruff of Togo; Susie and her husband, Alex Korb of Calder; Molly Leis of Kamsack; seven grandchildren, Terry, Gail, Darcy, Wade, Kelly, Brenda and Corinne; and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Friday, February 27, 1987 from Salem Evangelical Church in Yorkton with Rev. David Hooper and Pastor Gordon Freiter officiating. Pallbearers were Dale Prodonchuk, Wayne Ferris, Terry Pfeifer, Darcy Pfeifer, Wade Pfeifer, and Don Ferridge. 
 


152. PFEIFER, Mary- Mrs. Mary Pfeifer passed away on Wednesday July 12, 1989. She was 83. Mary was born on March 17, 1906 at Winnipeg, Manitoba to parents Peter and Mary (nee Reitz) Holstein. On December 27, 1926 Mary was united in marriage to Jack Pfeifer. They raised a son and daughter. Mrs. Pfeifer was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jack in 1987 and a sister, Martha Miller, three sisters in infancy and two brothers, Peter and Dave Holstein. She leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life, one son, Arnold and his wife Hazel of Ebenezer, one daughter Frances and her husband Ken Smithson of Ebenezer, seven grandchildren, Terry, Gail, Darcy, Wade, Kelly, Brenda and Corinne. 15 great grandchildren. Five sisters, Mrs. Jake (Annie) Miller of Leader, Sask., Mrs. Dave (Lydia) Miller of Leader, Sask., Mrs. George (Leah) Brown of Yorkton, Mrs. Alvin (Rachel) Miller of Campbell River, B.C., Mrs. Jenny Sticker of Regina Beach, Sask., Four brothers, Henry, Jack and Ben of Yorkton and Abe of Sceptre, Sask. 156. REIMAN, Ella- Ella M. Reiman, beloved wife of Leslie Reiman of Yorkton, passed away on Monday January 22, 1996 at the Regina Plains Health Centre. She was 76 years of age. Ella was born on June 27, 1919 at Ebenezer, Saskatchewan, daughter of Hugo and Martha (nee Fenske) Hoffman. She grew up on the farm in Ebenezer and received her education at the Ebenezer School. On November 25, 1944, Ella was united in marriage with Leslie Reiman in Regina. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Ebenezer district and remained farming there for 50 years. Ella and Leslie were blessed with three children; Judith, Donald and Cheryl. Ella was predeceased by her mother, Martha (Fenske) Hoffman in 1939; her father, Hugo Hoffman in 1975, her step mother, Emma Hoffman in 1993; her brother Lloyd Hoffman in 1992 and her granddaughter, Kristen Lee Reiman in 1987. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her husband, Leslie Reiman of Yorkton; her children; Judith (Albert) Curtis of Banff, Alberta, Donald (Debra) Reiman of Ebenezer and Cheryl (Lloyd) Estey of Morinville, Alberta, her brothers and sisters; Melvin (Frances) Hoffman of Bismark, ND, Gertrude Remple of Calgary, AB. 157. REIMAN, Kristen Lee - Kristen was born November 9, 1981 and passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 1987 at the age of 5 years. Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, Saskatchewan on Saturday, June 13, 1987 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Gordon Freiter officiated. Pallbearers were Kent Logan, Neil Logan, Craig Logan, Garvin Todosichuk, Elmer Hlucman and Lloyd Estey. Kristen Lee was predeceased by her grandfather, Kenneth Logan. She leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life, her parents Donald and Debbie; a brother, Michael, a sister, Carla; grandmother, Leila Logan of Porcupine Plain; grandparents, Ella and Leslie Reiman of Ebenezer.

160. REIMER, Christine- Mrs. Christine Reimer of Ebenezer, Saskatchewan aged 72 years passed away April 28, 1972 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. Born in Romania on January 27, 1900 she was the daughter of John and Susan Hemrick. She came to Canada with her parents to the Fone Hill district in 1910. In 1920 she married Otto Reimer at Yorkton and the couple farmed in the Ebenezer district. Predeceased by her husband in 1965 she leaves to mourn her passing two sons , Milton of Minnedosa, MB and Gordon of Burlington, Ontario, two daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Laura) Wegner and Mrs. Albert (Elsie) Wegner, both of Ebenezer. 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Charles of Winnipeg, Bill of Kelowna and Ted of Endersby, B.C. She was predeceased by two brothers Peter and John. Pallbearers were Hilbert Weldman, Albert Guse, Bill Fedelleck, Fred Fandrey, Herman Pachal and Ed Fandrey.

162.  REIMER, Emily (Amelia) - Emily was born 1890 in Poland. She died May 21, 1930 at the Queen Victoria Hospital. Emily married Rudolph Reimer. She was 40 years, 7 months and 6 days of age. The funeral was held May 23, 1930. 
 

 
163. REIMER, Otto- Funeral service for the late Otto Reimer, 76 of Ebenezer, who died at the Yorkton Union Hospital on Feb. 16, 1965 was held on Feb. 19 in the Baptist Church at Ebenezer. Pastor W. Dickau officiated. Pallbearers were Gus Bucholtz, Jake Janzen, Robert Gabert, Joe Niebrandt, Fred Yanke and August Zimmer. Born in Poland on Oct. 20, 1888, Mr. Reimer immigrated to Canada in 1909 to the Ebenezer district. In 1920 he married the former Christine Hemrick in Yorkton and they farmed in the Ebenezer district until 1950 when he retired and moved into the village of Ebenezer. Surviving are his widow, Christine; two daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Laura) Wegner and Mrs. Albert (Elsie) Wegner, both of Ebenezer; two sons Milton of Minnedosa, Man., and Gordon of Moncton, N.B.; two sisters, Olga of Winnipeg and Gunda of Toronto; a brother, Adolph, of Regina, and a stepbrother, Rudolph of Ebenezer; also nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

165. REIMER, Rudolf - May 11, 1970 at St. Pauls Nursing Home, Melville, Rudolf Riemer, 88 formerly of Ebenezer, passed away. Born in Poland, October 15, 1881 he came to Canada and to Ebenezer to farm in 1911. Following his wifes passing in 1930 he married Martha Nagel who predeceased him in 1967. In 1946 the couple moved to Springside. Survived by a son, Irving of Regina, a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Bertha) Weber of Yorkton, 9 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother Adolph of Regina and 2 sisters, Gunda Fletcher and Olga Beasler, both of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by two daughters Eileen and Mabel, and sons Alfred, Arthur and Edmund. Funeral Services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. N. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers were Fred & John Hoffman, Joe Niebrandt, Fred, Bob and Oscar Fandrey. 
  


166. RETZ, Daniel- Daniel was born March 22, 1909 in Poland and died August 1, 1969 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Funeral Service was held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, August 5, 1969. Clergyman was Pastor N. Taylor. (Funeral Card) Following an accident at Ebenezer, Daniel Retz, aged 60 years, died August 1, 1969. Funeral service was held August 5, 1969 at Ebenezer Baptist church with Rev. N. Taylor officiating. Interment was in the Ebenezer Cemetery with Clifford Fairhead, John Minke, Dennis Guse, Ronald Will, Reinhold Bohn and Arthur Patzer as pallbearers. Born March 22, 1909 in Poland he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Retz. He came to Canada and to the Ebenezer district with his parents in 1920. The family farmed in the district. He married the former Tobea Spitzke on July 11, 1946 at Minnatonis, Manitoba and they farmed at Ebenezer until the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Tobea; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Fritzke of Yorkton, Delores of Regina and Gloria at home; and one sister, Mrs. Wanda Wagner of Yorkton 
  


167. RUTTIG, Emily (Amelia)- The Ebenezer community was shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Emily Ruttig at her home on Thursday, October 29, 1953. The late Mrs. Ruttig was born in Poland on March 15, 1876. She was baptized by the Rev. Ashendorf. On January 10, 1898, she was married to Daniel Ruttig at Lepuweck, Poland. That same year they emigrated to Canada and settled near Oak Bank, Man. After 12 years there, they moved to the Ebenezer district where they farmed until 1943. They then retired to Ebenezer village with a granddaughter, A. Doreen Hoffman. Mr. Ruttig passed away on September 1, 1948. Their union was blessed with one son and six daughters. Two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Hoffman and one in infancy, predeceased their parents. She leaves to mourn one son, William Ruttig, Yorkton; four daughters, Mrs. Emma Hoffman of Ebenezer, Mrs. Olga Welk of Burnaby, B.C. Mrs. Lena Grainger of Waldron, Mrs. Edna Ruttig of Prince George, B.C.; one daughter-in-law; five sons-in-law; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral service was held on November 2nd in the Baptist Church at Ebenezer and was conducted by Rev. W. Hoffman. Rev. M. DeBoer of Springside read the scripture and led in prayer. Rev. C. Rempel of Hebron, N.D. spoke words of comfort in the German language. Pallbearers were Messrs. John Hoffman, William Hoffman, John Reiman, Fred Katzberg, Rudolph Reimer and Otto Reimer. 
  


168. RUTTIG, Daniel- The death of Daniel Ruttig occurred at the Yorkton General Hospital on Wednesday, Sept 1, 1948. Mr. Rutig was born in Poland on October 2, 1871. On Jan 10, 1898 he was joined in holy wedlock to Emily Pede at Lepuweck, Poland. That same year they immigrated to Canada and settled in Oak Bank, Manitoba. After 12 years they moved to the Ebenezer area where he farmed until 1943. Their union was blessed with six daughters and one son. Two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Hoffman and one in infancy predeceased their father. He left to morn his loss, his wife, five children, Mrs. Emma Hoffman, Ebenezer, Mrs. Olga Welk, Aggassiz, B.C., Mrs. Lena Grainger, Gorlitz, Mrs. Edna Ruttig, Kelowna, B.C., and William Ruttig, Yorkton. Also surviving are one brother in Oak Bank and as far as known, one step sister in Germany. The funeral was held September 5 in the East Ebenezer Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Messrs. Edward Patzer, John Hoffman, John Reiman, August Zimmer, Fred Katzberg and Fred Yanke

171. SCHRADER, Adolph- Mr. Adolf Schrader, beloved husband of Mary Schrader of Yorkton passed away on Thursday, December 29, 1988 at his home. He was 84 years of age. Born on August 29, 1904 in the Stienbach district of Manitoba, Adolf was a son of William and Emily (nee Konkel) Schrader. In 1909 the family moved to the Ebenezer district where they farmed. Adolf helped on the farm and in 1937 married Mabel Reimer. Mabel died in May of 1941 and in November of 1941 Adolf married Mary Bartsch. They continued to farm in Ebenezer until 1945 when they moved to Debden (Park Valley District) to farm, then to Shellbrook in 1961, returning to Ebenezer in 1962. Mary and Adolf retired in Yorkton in 1973. Predeceased by his parents, his first wife Mabel; brothers Paul, August, Dan, Fred, Louis, Otto and Sam and sisters Tillie Klish, Martha Goel, Annie Richter, Mary Schrader and Hulda Schrader. Adolf leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life his beloved wife Mary; five sons, Donald and his wife Beverly of Yorkton, Rueben of Thunder Bay, Stanley and his wife Ellen of Elma, Washington, U.S.A., David and his wife Barbara of St. Alberta and William and his wife Maureen of Calgary. Also one daughter, Gladys and her husband Ben Nesbitt of Willowbrook; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a sister Lydia Watson of Yorkton. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 2, 1989 from the Chapel of Bailey�s Funeral Home in Yorkton with Pastor Will James of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Pallbearers were Randy Nesbitt, Clayton Bassingthwaite, Norman Pries, Arnie Sully, Ed Frazer and Larry Liebreich. 
  


173. SCHRADER, Mary- Mary Schrader, resident of Jubilee Crescent in Yorkton passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at her residence. She was 85 years of age. Mary Schrader was born on July 19, 1917 at Great Deer, Saskatchewan, northwest of Saskatoon; a daughter of Katherina (nee Neudorf) and Henry Bartsch. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the district. On November 9, 1941 she was united in marriage to Adolf Schrader at Great Deer. Following their marriage the couple resided in the Ebenezer-Whitesand River district from 1941 to 1945, when they moved to Park Valley, near Debden, Saskatchewan. They resided there until 1961, when they moved to Shellbrook, Saskatchewan for one year. In 1962 they moved to make their home in the village of Ebenezer until eventually moving to Yorkton in 1971, where they had since resided. Adolf passed away in 1988, and following that time Mary continued to maintain her independence and care for herself for many years. Besides her husband Adolf, she was predeceased by a daughter Gladys Nesbitt, her parents, twin brothers in infancy, brothers Isaac, John, Jacob and Henry, and by sisters Mary and Annie, both in childhood, and sisters Tina Bergen, Nettie Wall and Helen Heppner. She leaves to cherish her memory her five sons; Donald (Bev) of Yorkton; Rueben (Betty) of Thunder Bay, Ontario; Stan (Ellen) of Walla Walla, Washington; David (Barb) of Ebenezer; and William (Maureen) of Calgary; son-in-law, Ben Nesbitt of Willowbrook; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; a sister Annie Matschke of Abbotsford, BC; and sisters-in-law Anne Bartsch and Susan Bartsch. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Pastor Trevor Cherry of the Worldwide Church of God officiated. Casketbearers were Kevin, Russell and Jason Schrader, Trevor Krayco, Clayton Bassingthwaite, Trevor Kraco, Norman Pries and Randy Nesbitt. 
  


174. SCHRADER, Otto - Mr. Schrader died Tuesday, March 2, 1982 in Margo. Mr. Schrader was born October 5, 1916 at Whitesand, Saskatchewan, a son of William and Emily Schrader. Funeral service was held March 5, 1982 in Wadena. Pallbearers were Dave Schrader, Norman Pries, Bill Watson, Mr. Bohl and Dave and Bradley McFarlane. Mr. Schrader was predeceased by his parents, five brothers, August, Paul, Dan Fred and Lewis and five sisters, Tilly, Martha, Annie, Hilda and Mary. He leaves to mourn his passing , two brothers, Stan of Steinback, Manitoba and Adolph of Yorkton, and a sister Lydia of Yorkton. 
   


176. SHAUER (SHOWER), Michel (Michael)- An old and respected citizen of Ebenezer district, passed peacefully away at his home on Thursday, March 14th at 11 a.m., in the person of Mr. Michel Shower. He is survived by his widow, two daughters and two sons. The funeral will be held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon at two o�clock. Michael Shauer was born in Poland on October 7th, 1862 and passed away at his home in Ebenezer on March 14th at the age of 72 years, 5 months, 7 days. In 1885 Mr. Shauer was married to Rosalie Badke. Twelve children were born to this union, of which eight preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, and four children, two sons and two daughters, Augustine Much, Spokane, Wash., Blanch Forman, Portland, Oregon, Adolf Shauer, Gorlitz, Sask., Aurthur Shauer, Tiny, Sask., and eighteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one brother in Vancouver, B.C. In 1891 the family came to Canada and settled in the Ebenezer district, where Mr. Shauer was a successful farmer for many years. Mr. Shauer was converted and baptized in Poland and after locating in Ebenezer he joined the German Baptist Church, and was a member until departing from this life. Funeral was held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. A. Rosner officiating.
   


177. SHAUER, Rosalie- Rosalie was born in 1863 in Russia. She died April 16, 1945 at the Queen Victoria Hospital. She was 82 years of age. 
   


178. SMIDT (Schmidt), Olga B. (Shouer)- Olga died July 9, 1919. She was 26 years, 2 months and 12 days of age. She married Peter John Schmidt in 1910. They had one daughter, Viola Daisy Schmidt born March 4, 1911. 
  


180.  SONTAG, Rheinhold - Rheinhold was born June 15 in Poland to Gustave & Amelia (Kugart) Sonntag. He died June 12, 1947 at the Yorkton Hospital. He was 44 years of age. The funeral was held June 16, 1947 with Rev. Beutler. 
   


181. SONTAG, Gene Douglas - Gene was born Dec. 18, 1948 and died April 1, 1949 at 19-27-3-W2 at the age of 3 months and 14 days. His parents were Bruno & Claire (Herbert) Sonntag. The Funeral was held April 5, 1949 with Rev. Beutler. 
   


182. STEBNER, Augustina- Augustina was born in Poland on April 2, 1877. She died March 2, 1957 at the Yorkton Hospital. She was 78 years of age. Her husband was Julius Stebner. Her father was Ludwig Katzburg. 
  


183. STEBNER, Juilus - Julius was born June 21 in Poland. He died August 7, 1959 at the Yorkton Hospital, aged 72 years. His wife was Augustina Katzburg. 
  


184.  WAGNER (WEGNER), Lilly- Mrs. Lilly Wegner of Ebenezer, Sask., passed away May 19, 1977 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. Born July 9, 1903 at Ebenezer, Lilly was the daughter of Gustav and Emma (nee Fenske) Bohn; pioneers of the district. She received her education at Brynterion School. On December 5, 1938 she was united in marriage to Julius Wegner. The couple lived on the farm until 1947 when they moved into Ebenezer. Mrs. Wegner was predeceased by her husband, Julius on December 16, 1968, and one daughter in infancy; a brother, Albert and two sisters, Ruby and Violet. She leaves to mourn her passing three brothers, Edwin, Reinhold and Alvin all of Ebenezer; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Helm of Yorkton and Mrs. Irene Patzer of Ebenezer. Funeral Service was at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, Saskatchewan on Monday, May 23, 1977. Clergyman was Rev. N. Taylor. Pallbearers were George, Rodney and Mervin Wegner; Marvin Helm, Larry and Vance Bohn.

187. WEGNER, Emma - Mrs. Emma Wegner of Yorkton and formerly of Ebenezer district, widow of the late Gustaf Wegner, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 1996 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 79 years of age. Emma Wegner was born on July 18, 1917 at Margo, Saskatchewan, a daughter of Edward and Katie (nee Ziola) Bohl. Emma received her education at a country school in the Margo district. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Peter�s Luthern Church in Margo. On August 4, 1939 she was united in marriage to Gustaf Wegner in Yorkton. The couple resided on a farm in the Rhein district until 1949 when they purchased a farm in Ebenezer district. It was here that they raised their family of three children, George, Audrey and Mervin. Emma and Gus remained in the Ebenezer district until 1990 when, because of failing health, they moved to Queen Elizabeth court in Yorkton. On February 22, 1992 Gus passed away. Besides her husband, Emma was predeceased by her parents; a son, George (1988); a granddaughter, Carey Lynn Martel (1990) and a sister Frieda Wegner (1983) . She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Audrey, and her husband Grant Martel of Yorkton, her son Mervin, and his wife Arlene of Ebenezer and her daughter-in-law Barbara Wegner of Yorkton; grandchildren, Greg (Laura) Wegner of Revelstoke, BC, Darcy Wegner of Yorkton, Scott Wegner of Moosomin and Carmin (Rick) Dawe of Yorkton, Jay-Lyn Wegner of Yorkton, Tyler Wegner of Ebenezer and Shawn Martel of Yorkton; great grandchildren, Landon and Tanner Wegner; twin sister, Elizabeth Juve of Margo; sister, Helen Bohl of Yorkton; brothers, Ernest Bohl of White Rock, BC and Fred Bohl of Margo. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 27, 1996 from St. Paul Lutheran church, Yorkton with Pastor Brad Busch officiating. Casket bearers were her grandchildren Greg, Darcy, Scott, Tyler, Jay-Lyn Wegner, Shawn Martel and Carmin Dawe.
   


188.  WEGNER, George Edward- George passed away on Thursday, August 4, 1988 at the age of 49 years. He was born in 1939. Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, Saskatchewan on Monday, August 8, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Gordon Freiter officiated. Pallbearers were Morris Juve, Dwayne Juve, Roger Bohl, Lawrence Rasmussen, Aurel Morissette and Lawrence Wegner. George was predeceased by his grand-parents. WEGNER, Gustaf- Mr. Gustaf Wegner, beloved husband of Emma Wegner of Yorkton and formerly of Ebenezer district passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 22, 1992 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. He was 87 years of age. Gustaf Wegner was born April 4, 1904 at Volenia, Russia, the fourth of 10 children born to his German parents John and Julianna Wegner. In 1912 the family left Russia and came to attain a better life in Canada and settled in the Rhein District. On August 4, 1939 Gus was united marriage to Emma Bohl of Margo. Mr. Wegner leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his beloved wife Emma, a son, Mervin (Arlene) of Ebenezer, a daughter, Audrey (Grant) Martel of Yorkton, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Wegner of Ebenezer, grandchildren Greg (Laura) Wegner of Revelstoke, B.C., Darcy, Scot and Carmin Wegner of Ebenezer, Jay-Lynn and Tyler Wegner of Ebenezer and Shawn Martel of Yorkton, a great grandchild Landon Wegner of Revelestoke, B.C., three brothers, Adolph of Yorkton, Edward of Saltcoats and Albert of Ebenezer and three sisters, Emma Holstein of Yorkton, Pauline Jordan of Saskatoon and Lydia Schille of Swan River. Born December 5, 1897 in Kurgany, Volhynia, Russia, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner. He came to Canada and to the Rhein district with his parents in 1908. He married the former Lilly Bohn December 6, 1938 at Ebenezer. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Lilly; four brothers Gustav, Adolph, Edward and Albert, all of Ebenezer; five sisters, Mrs. Amelia Schira of Rhein, Mrs. Pauline Jordan and Mrs. Emma Holstein of Yorkton, Mrs. Lydia Schilkie of Swan River and Mrs. Olga Stinke of Fort Frances, Ontario. 
  


192. WILL, Amelia (Emillee) - Amelia was born Dec. 12, 1878 in Poland to Wm. & Caroline (Burgert) Konchack. She died June 9, 1942 at Ebenezer. She had one son, Ronald Will. The funeral was held June 10, 1942. 
  


193.  YURKOWSKI, Eddie (Johnny) - Eddie was born November 14, 1932 and died January 27, 1934. The death of Eddie Yurkowski at the age of fourteen months and a few days occurred at Queen Victoria Hospital following an operation for rupture. Left to mourn his loss are his parents, two brothers and four sisters. The funeral took place at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. G. Shroeder officiated. Pallbearers were Alvin Bohn, Arthur Wilke, Melvin Hoffman and Peter Shroeder. 
 


194. ZIMMER, Lawrence- Mr. Lawrence Harold Zimmer passed away suddenly at his home on November 23, 1996 at the age of 79 years. Lawrence was born on August 8, 1917 on the family homestead and he received his education in Ebenezer. Lawrence was united in marriage with Ruby Smithson on October 18, 1944 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Lawrence was predeceased by his father, Louis in 1958; his mother Lydia in 1975; his brother Henry in 1946; his sister, Gladys Patzer in 1978; his brothers-in-law, Arnold Patzer in 1993 and Max Uhl in 1988. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his loving wife, Ruby; his sister, Alyce (Louis) Dutz of Sprindside; sisters-in-law, Joyce Uhl of Victoria, BC; Bernice (Mansel) Powell of Yorkton; brothers-in-law, Ken (Frances) Smithson of Ebenezer; Jack (Gerry) Smithson of Calgary, Alberta; Morley (Jane) Smithson of Yorkton. Prayers were held Wednesday, November 17, 1996 from Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel with Pastor Wayne Jorstad presiding. Funeral Services were held Thursday, November 28, 1996 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Jorstad officiating. Casket Bearers were Neil McConnell, James Hansen, Wayne Ferris, Kaley Smithson, Brenda Prodonchuk and Sandra Gulka.

ZIMMER, Louis- Final tribute was paid Saturday last to a long time resident of Ebenezer and district in the person of well known and well beloved pioneer Louis Zimmer, 73, who passed away in Yorkton Auxiliary Hospital on Wednesday, July 30, 1958 . Funeral service was conducted from the Ebenezer Baptist Church where Mr. Zimmer had been a member since his youth. In the absence of Rev. John Wellenberg, minister, Rev. Fred Sonnenberg officiated. The late Mr. Zimmer was one of the early pioneers of Saskatchewan. Born February 2nd, 1885 in Lublin, Poland, he came to Canada with his parents in the year 1888, settling in the Ebenezer area. There he made his home and continued farming actively up to his 73rd year. On December 10th, 1915 he was united in marriage to Lydia Betker of Southey, Sask. To this union four children were born. One son, Henry predeceased him in 1946. Left to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father is his invalid widow, one son Lawrence of Ebenezer, two daughters, Mrs. Louis Dutz, Springside; Mrs. Arnold Patzer, Ebenezer. Two granddaughters Karen and Sharlene Patzer and one brother August of Ebenezer. Carrying the casket to its last resting place were, Messrs. Fred Katzberg, John Koshman, Bill Hoffman, Edward Patzer, Gus Bucholtz and Fred Hoffman. 
 


196.  ZIMMER, Lydia- Mrs. Lydia Zimmer passed away July 28, 1975. Funeral service was held from the Ebenezer Baptist Church on July 30, 1975. Mrs. Lydia Zimmer was born at Morden, Manitoba October 1, 1893 the daughter of Louis and Pauline Betker. On December 10, 1915 she was united in marriage to Louis Zimmer. She is survived by one son, Lawrence and daughter-in-law Ruby of Ebenezer. Two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Alyce) Dutz and her husband of Springside, Mrs. Arnold (Gladys) Patzer and her husband of Ebenezer. Two grandchildren, Mrs. Darryl (Karen) Young of Victoria, B.C. and Charlene Patzer of Ebenezer. Three sisters, Elsie, Mrs. Gus Heins, Wasco, California, Pearl, Mrs. Eric Johnson and Lavonne, Mrs. Arndth Bystrom, Tacoma, Washington, two brothers, Arnold, Laguna Beach, California and Henry, Vancouver, B.C. Pallbearers were Andy Dreger, Reinhold Bohn, Egan Laube, Norman Liebreich, Bill Koshman and Earl Fenske 
 


198. ZINGBEIL, Pauline- Funeral service for the late Mrs. Pauline Zingbeil, 80, was held at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Jan. 30. Rev. Wilfred Dickau officiated. Pallbearers were Otto Reimer, R. Goulden, F. Yanke, George Matechuck, J. Wegner and Gus Bucholtz. The late Mrs. Zingbeil was born on April 16, 1882 in Lublin, Poland to Ludwig Katzberg. She died in 1963. In 1903 she came to Canada and settled for a year in Yorkton, then moved to Ebenezer where she resided until her death. She married the late Ferdinand Zingbeil on Nov. 10, 1904 and the couple had seven children. She was predeceased by her husband and two children. Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Mable Fedelleck of Ebenezer and Mrs. Edna Fedelleck of Choiceland; and three sons, Albert of Yorkton, Henry of Powell River, B.C., and Wilfred of Ebenezer, Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; a brother in Poland and three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Freida Roming and Mrs. Julia Ketterly , both of Yorkton, and Mrs. Ida Katzberg of Kelowna, B.C. Mrs. Zingbeil died at the home of her daughter in Ebenezer on Jan. 26 at the age of 80 years, nine months and 10 days. 
 


200. ZINGBEIL, Catherine- Catherine was born in Poland in 1851. She died May 12, 1946 at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 18 days. The funeral was held May 15, 1946 with he Rev. Beutler. 



201. ZINGBEIL, Ferdinand- Final tribute was paid on Saturday, April 16 to a long time resident of Ebenezer and district in the person of well known pioneer Ferdinand Zingbeil, who passed away in the Yorkton Auxiliary Hospital on Wednesday, April 13, 1960 at 1:40 p.m. reaching the age of 84 years 3 months and 20 days. The late Mr. Zingbeil was born on December 24, 1875 in Russia. His parents were Louis and Katherine (Ziergler) Zingbeil. In the year 1900 he came to Canada settling in Ontario for one year and then he came to the Ebenezer area in 1901 where he remained until the time of his death. On November 10, 1904 he was united in matrimony to Pauline Katzberg and this union was blessed with seven children, two preceding him in death during their infancy. He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, two daughters, Mabel, Mrs. William Fedelleck of Ebenezer, Edna, Mrs. Henry Fedelleck of Choiceland; three sons, Albert of Yorkton, Henry of Powell River, B.C. and Johnny (Wilfred) of Ebenezer: 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Freda Roming and Mrs. Julia Hetterly of Yorkton. Funeral services were conducted from the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Rev John Wollenberg officiated. Interment took place in the Ebenezer cemetery. Pallbearers were Messrs. August Zimmer, William Hoffman, Raymond Goulden, Fred Yanke, Joe Draftenza and Otto Reimer.
 


202. ZINGBEIL, Louis- Louis was born in 1844 in Russia/Poland. He died April 15, 1916 at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 9 days. (NOTE: Research from Germany indicates that Louis' birthday could be January 9, 1847.  Canadian records indicate it is 1844.) 
 


203. ZINGBEIL, Wilfred (John) Arthur- Mr. Wilfred Arthur Zingbeil beloved husband of Alma, passed away suddenly on the family farm on May 7, 1987. He was 72 years of age. Mr. Zingbeil was born June 7, 1914 at Ebenezer, Saskatchewan, the son of Fred and Pauline (nee Katzberg) Zingbeil. Wilfred, who is referred to by everyone as John, grew up on his parents� farm and received his education at the Brynterian School. Following the completion of his education he worked on his father�s farm and later took on the operation of it. On March 23, 1957, John was united in marriage to Alma Fitzner in Ebenezer. In 1967, John and Alma took up residence in Yorkton and in 1977 John retired from farming. John looked forward with great anticipation as to the growth of the crop and to help with harvest in the fall. Mr. Zingbeil was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Henry and Albert. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life his wife Alma; one son, Barry of Saskatoon; one stepson Larry Hoffman and his wife, Jean of Ebenezer; one stepdaughter, Joan Andrews of Winnipeg; two sisters, Mabel Fedelleck of Ebenezer, and Edna and her husband Henry Fedelleck of Choiceland and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, May 11, 1987, from the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ebenezer with Pastor Gordon Freiter officiating. Pallbearers were Dale Morley, Wade Pfeifer, Terry Pfeifer, Leonard Fiedelleck, Trevor Fiedelleck and Darcy Pfeifer.
