Whitewood`s first cemetery was shut down in 1887. The graves were never moved and in 1961 Whitewood was putting water and sewer in and trenching for the sewer the hit three graves on the east end of Whitewood.

I registered this graveyard about 20 years ago and cannot find any information about it. One of the coffins had a brass plate on it naming a young 17 year old girl of the last name of Stirling.

When I registered the graveyard, we agreed to name it the Stirling Cemetery at Whitewood.

The Government of Saskatchewan Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan is the area which registers and provides regulations about cemeteries in SK.
