Why Join SGS?
To become a member of Regina Branch,
you must become a member of the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society (SGS).
SGS offers two levels of memberships: Regular and Value-Added.
The following is summarized from the SGS website.
All members of the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society may:
  • receive three issues of the SGS Bulletin newsmagazine per year
  • use the largest genealogical lending library in Canada
  • borrow books directly from the SGS Library if you reside in Canada
  • use the microfilm/fiche collection in the SGS Library
  • access SGS research services
  • join a branch
  • vote at all membership meetings
  • attend SGS workshops, seminars and conferences
  • access expert staff, and certified researchers and instructors
  • access knowledge and experience of other members
  • post research interests on the SGS web site
Regular SGS membership is a tax deductible donation. The membership fee is $50.

In addition to the above, value-added membership gives you access to:

  • SGS online databases, including Saskatchewan Residents Index, burial index, obituary index, NW Rebellion war claims and Cummins Maps of Saskatchewan
  • SGS subscriptions to major genealogical databases, including FindMyPast, WorldVitalRecords, Godfrey Memorial Library, Fold3, and Ancestry.com
Value-Added SGS Membership gives you access to SGS online and subscription databases but does not provide a tax receipt. The value-added membership fee is $75.
For students up to age 22, a regular membership is $25, value-added is $35.

Why Join Regina Branch?
Once you are a member of SGS, it is inexpensive to join Regina Branch.
The annual membership fee is $20.

A branch member may participate in any of the activities listed below.
You will find more details elsewhere on this web site.
  • attend regularly-scheduled educational programs featuring guest speakers, member sharing sessions or field trips. (See our Coming Events and Recent Events pages for examples of these programs.)
  • discuss a wide variety of genealogical topics with your fellow branch members
  • exchange information, expertise and experiences with other branch members
  • share in an annual meeting, potluck supper and educational program once a year
  • vote on or become a member of the branch executive, and vote on branch policy
  • assist with the many activities of the branch, such as program planning, the newsletter and web site, cemetery recording and more
  • initiate, join and participate in special interest groups

How to Join

To join the Regina Branch, simply print and fill out the application form (below)
and mail it to our membership coordinator with a cheque for the appropriate fee,
or bring the form and payment to a regular branch meeting.

NOTE: You can join the SGS and the Regina Branch in one step.
Fill in at least one of the membership forms, make out a cheque for the
total of the two fees, and mail it to the address below or bring it to a branch meeting.
The Regina Branch will forward the provincial share to the SGS.

If you are already a member of SGS, you need remit only the branch fee.
If you are joining SGS at the same time,
we will forward your application and appropriate fee to the provincial office of SGS.
Fees are in Canadian dollars for Canadian residents and US dollars for everyone else.
We are unable to accept credit cards. Please make cheques payable to SGS Regina Branch.
