Enjoy! ![]() A Brief History of Our Ancestors From 1750-1752, under the auspices of the British government and the Governor of Nova Scotia, our ancestors were enlisted from Germany, Switzerland and the principality of Montbeliard to settle in Nova Scotia. These immigrants came to be known as the Foreign Protestants who, shortly after their arrival in Halifax, settled in nearby Lunenburg County. They were soon joined by pre-Loyalists from New England. Together, all of these people contributed to the richness of our heritage and to the diverse culture of Lunenburg County today.
