Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Owen Heisler and Marjorie Reimer (Bridgewater). Educated in Halifax, she graduated from the V.G. School of Nursing in 1963. She worked as a RN for 20 years, mainly in the Foothills Hospital and the Calgary General. She is survived by daughters, Tracey and Jackie; grandchildren, Adam and Ashley; sister, Nancy (James) Frizzle, Middleton; brother, Raymond (Brenda) Heisler, Halifax; and their families. The body has been cremated. A memorial service to celebrate Anne's life was held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, in Airdrie Alliance Church. He was also the President of the minor baseball in Woodside as well as coached different levels of minor baseball. He was an employee of Maritime Warehousing until retirement due to illness. He also had a baseball field named in his honor "Carl E. Morash" field. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of Aileen (Hebb) DeMone and the late Cyril DeMone. Greg joined the family business, DeMone's Monuments Ltd. in 1967, eventually buying the business in 1977. He owned and operated this company for 33 years until his death. He was Atlantic Canada District Trustee for the Monument Builders of North America for three terms between 1994 and 2000. Greg was a founding member and Vice President of the Atlantic Canada Monument Builders Association. Greg also owned and operated D & M Quality Christmas Trees from 1974 until 1999. Greg was past president of the Lunenburg Jaycees and a member of the Canada J.C.I. Senate. He was a member and past president of the Lunenburg Sou'Westers, and was involved with the Easter Seal Campaign for the last 20 years. He was vice president of the Sunny Valley Cemetery Association and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and travelling in his leisure time. He is survived by his companion, Elizabeth Fickes; sons, Cory and Jamie, both of Vancouver; Elizabeth's sons, Colin, Martin's River; Chris, Halifax. CONRAD, Susan Lynn, B.A., L.L.B. - 38, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2000, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of John T. and the late Jean (Gilmour) Conrad. Susan graduated from Dalhousie Law School and was admitted to the Ontario Bar, where she practiced advocacy law. She was very interested in the rights of the disabled and worked tirelessly to improve their quality of life. She co-authored a handbook for the Ontario government recommending recruitment and hiring options for persons with disabilities in the Ontario Public Service. She wrote and presented a brief on compassionate drug access to the House of Commons Subcommittee on HIV/AIDS in Ottawa in 1995. Some of her articles have been included in the curriculum of law schools in Ontario. She was also keenly interested in ALS research; she encouraged scientists, promoted fundraising for research and urged drug companies to hasten their work. She had also started a book about patients' rights and responsibilities. Susan was full of joy and laughter. Her first thoughts were always for other people. She loved all kinds of music, books and plants. She had a foster child in Sri Lanka through World Vision. Surviving Susan are her sisters, Joan, Antigonish; and Elizabeth, Halifax; many aunts, uncles and cousins and countless friends and colleagues. She resided in Montreal and Toronto before returning to Nova Scotia in 1994. She leaves behind many friends in Montreal and Toronto Most of all Joanne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband J.
