NOTES:
These Claffeys lived in Bertrand, Michigan.  I suspect that John J. Claffey b. 1856 in Michigan is also their son.  His wife was named Amy, b. 1861 in Michigan.

03-Was a farmer in 1880 and had no children at that time
05-Teaching school in 1880
06-Daniel attended Notre Dame beginning in 1872.  One record shows
Daniel born 1860--which would have made him 12 when he was at
Notre Dame if it is the same Daniel.  Have additional info on this
family.  I'm sure there were more children.

Claffeys from Bertrand (Berrien Co.) Michigan who attended Notre Dame were:
Francis Xavier Claffey 1872 to 1876
    James Claffey 1865 to 1868
    John J. Claffey 1872 to 1875
