YVONNE CHRISTENSEN, 66.
Nurse
Yvonne Dolores Christensen, who worked as a registered nurse for 26 years, died
Wednesday at Anberry Health Care in Atwater. She was 66.
Mrs. Christensen, who lived in Merced for 44 years, was born in Kampsville, Ill.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Merced, the Merced
Genealogical Society, and the American Nurses Association. She was a graduate of
the Blessing School of Nursing in Quincy, Ill.
She was a nurse at Merced General Hospital for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Karan McKenzie of Merced; two sons, Nels
Christensen of Sacramento and Kent Christensen of Merced; a sister, Zona Norton
of Milton, Ill.; three brothers, Beverly "Bud" Bailey of Beach Park, Ill., Gail
"Sonny" Bailey of Kampsville, Ill., and Lowell Bailey of Michael, Ill; and six
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Lena Bailey, and her
husband, Alan Christensen, who died in October.
Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Monday at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral
Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home,
with Pastor Clarence Eisberg of St. Paul's Lutheran Church presiding.
Burial will be in Merced District Cemetery. The family requests that donations
be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2916 Mckee Road, Merced 95340, or the
American Diabetes Association, Central Valley Chapter, 55 Shaw Ave., Suite 109,
Clovis, 93612.
