PAUL J. WALLACE
1920 ~ 2003


Paul J. Wallace was born in 1920 and died in Merced on June 20, 2003. He was 83 years old.


Paul was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and joined the Air Force in 1940. He was married to Nada on Dec. 17, 1941, 10 days after W.W.II started. He served in the Pacific Theater and the Korean War as a flight engineer on B-29's. After the decommissioning of the B-29's, he spent several years as a flight engineer on B-29's. He then attended flight performance officer school at Mather AFB.


After his retirement, Paul worked as a salesman for Alvord and Ferguson. He then started his own Engraving business that was run out of his home with his wife Nada. Paul was involved in both the Merced Elks Lodge #1240 and the American Legion Post 83. He was an Exalted Ruler from 1979-1980 for the Elks Lodge. He was a Post Commander for the American Legion. Paul and Nada are members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where he served as an usher and on the cleaning crew.

Paul is survived by his brother Thomas of Oakdale, LA, wife, Nada Ann Wallace, sons, Lynn P. and Charles L. Wallace; grandchildren, Marty C. and Derrick L. Wallace, Erin J. Tennant and Ericca L. McGlothin; and great-granddaughters Dani M. Wallace, Kalista R. McGlothin and Kamaro E. Tennant.
