Marion Louise "Jimmie" Mussotto

Marion Louise "Jimmie" Mussotto a resident of Merced for 57 years, died March 9
in Modesto. Mrs. Mussotto was born and raised in Taft, California, January 18,
1930, and moved to Merced in1946, her senior year of high school. She went to
work part time at the Old Highway 99 Pine Cone and this started a long
association with Ray and Beulah Douglas of the Pine Cone Branding Iron
Restaurant as a cashier, hostess and over 20 years as Mr. Douglas's secretary,
until the Branding Iron fire in 1987. At the time of her death she was still
working part time for Mrs. Douglas.
Mrs. Mussotto was a past member of Zeta Zeta and XiEplon Koppa Chapter of
BetaSigma Phi and served 2 years as treasure of the Central Valley Council of
Beta SigmaPhi. She was a past registrar for Merced County Genealogical Society.
Jimmie was preceded in death by her father James Shoopman, step-father Kenneth
Arndke, her mother Vera Arndke and granddaughter Christine Mussotto. Mrs.
Mussotto leaves behind her husband Vinsent Mussotto of 55 years, sons Gai
Mussotto and wife Diane Mussotto of San Lorenzo, Vincent and wife Billie of
Merced, daughters Niki Mussotto of Merced and Laurie Mussotto and her companion
Kim Kahlof Merced. Also surviving are grandchildren Shani and husband Dickie
Rasmussen,Vinnie Mussotto, Michael Mussotto, James Dean Blaylock all of Merced,
Steven Blick of San Lorenzo and 2 great-granddaughters Shaylyn and Paige
Rasmussen of Merced.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13 from 4-7 p.m. at Ivers & Alcorn
Funeral Home in Merced with a Vigil of Prayer following at 7p.m. Graveside
services will be held March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary District Cemetery. A
celebration of Moms life will follow at 1670 Patricia Lane, Merced, CA. Her wish
is that in place of flowers donations be made to American Lung Assoc. of central
California, P.O. Box11187, Fresno, CA 93772 or Charity of your choice.
