Daniel Klinger, 73
Insurance underwriter

Daniel Klinger, an insurance underwriter, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stockton. He was 73.

Mr. Klinger was born Sept. 24, 1919 in Detroit, Mich. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and worked for Farmers Insurance Group for more than 35 years.

A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, Mr. Klinger was a member of UCLA's Beta Gamma Sigma.

He enjoyed walking, reading, jazz and being a political advisor.

According to his family, he was well-liked and admired by those who knew him

Mr. Klinger was preceded in death by his father, Jeremiah Klinger; his mother, Celia Lozier, and a brother, Sam Klinger.

Survivors include his wife, Merced County Supervisor Ann Klinger, of Merced; a daughters, Ann Eileen Klinger, of San Francisco, and a son, Daniel W. Klinger, of Redwood City.

Private services will be conducted by the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Daniel Klinger Memorial Fund fro Cerebrovascular Research at the University of California, San Francisco, in care of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Chapel, 1490 B St., Merced 95340.
