Beulah (Bea) Anderson
January 22, 1921 - August 27, 2012
Beulah (Bea) was born in Winton, California on January 22, 1921 to
Edward and Florence Roedell. Bea was a 1938 graduate of Livingston High
School, and Heald Business College in San Jose, California in 1939.
On March 17, 1940, she married Jay Anderson, and they lived in Merced
most of their marriage. During World War II, she traveled with Jay to
his various duty stations. While Jay was stationed in India, she worked
for Jimmy Uhle in his accounting office. She also was a youth leader
with Camp Fire Girls and a supporter of various youth activities in
Merced.
Bea is survived by daughter Karen (Daryl) Poppen of Keyes, CA; daughter
Jayne (Rich) Price of Mt. Hermon, CA; 3 grandsons; 2 great grandsons; a
great granddaughter; and her niece, Ilene Faust, whom she considered
another daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents,
her brother Arnold, and grandson Greg Poppen.
Bea was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Merced
Women's Club, Merced Genealogical Society, Woman-to-Woman Bible Studies,
and Central Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered as a loving
wife, caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and a devoted
friend. She was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, and she entered into
heaven on August 27, 2012.
Viewing will be at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street,
Merced on Saturday, September 1 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. A memorial
service will be held on Saturday, September 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Central
Presbyterian Church, 1929 Canal Street, Merced, CA. A reception will
follow in the Hoffmeister Center at the church.
