George Crabtree

In 1832, George Crabtree was one of a number of people who travelled across Britain to collect information about the problem of child labour.

He published his findings in The Leeds Mercury.

In 1833, he published his Brief Description of a Tour through Calder Dale, during which he spoke to many people, including

The mill owners in Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale objected to their publication Crabtree, George: [1???-18??] A textile worker from Huddersfield.
