Malcolm Bull's Calderdale Companion : Photograph

Holy Trinity School, Halifax

An image connected to Holy Trinity School, Halifax

Around 2014, this stone – now broken in two – was used to pave a moorland section of the Cleveland Way – between Black Nab and Highclife Farm.

It was part of a load supplied from West Yorkshire mills and other demolished properties.

Mrs O. G. M. Hirst is probably Olga Grace Maude, widow of Arthur John Croslegh Hirst.

If this is so, does anyone know the 1961 event at Holy Trinity School which is being commemorated, and/or the connection between the School and the Hirst family?
