Epitaph


In memory of
JAMES HARTLEY, merchant of Thorn Tree, near Halifax,
who departed this life on the 17th day of July 1828,
aged 60 years.
   
Also of JOSEPH JAMES, son of SAMUEL and HARRIETT HARTLEY, of
Shaw Hill in Skircoat, and grandson of the above JAMES HARTLEY who
departed this life August 25th 1829 aged 4 month.
   
Also of ELLEN, relict of the above mentioned JAMES HARTLEY,
who departed this life the 24th day of October 1831, aged 53 years.
   
Also of FREDERICK GOSNAY HARTLEY, eldest son of the abovesaid
SAMUEL and HARRIETT HARTLEY, who departed this life on the
7th day of February 1832 aged 4 years and 5 months.
   
Also of HARRIETT, the beloved wife of the said SAMUEL FIELDEN
HARTLEY, who departed this life, the 14th day of November 1839.
aged 40 years.
   
Also of FRANCIS, son of the above named JAMES and ELLEN
HARTLEY, who departed this life March 2nd 1847, aged 38 years.
   
Also of the above named SAMUEL FIELDEN HARTLEY,
who departed this life, April 11th 1852, aged 51 years.
   
Also of JOSEPH JAMES HARTLEY, son of the above named
SAMUEL FIELDEN HARTLEY, who departed this life January
21st 1871, aged 40 years.
