  • 1303 Little Ice Age. The Baltic Sea froze. Poor harvests

  • 1314 Poor summer

  • 1315 1315-1316. Harvests ruined by bad weather and heavy rain, led to famine and hardship in many parts of Europe. At this time, oats fared better than most crops

  • 1319 In the winter of 1319-1320, there was an outbreak of murraincattle plague

  • August 1348 The Black Death reached England, through Weymouth

  • 1350 The Black Death reached Scotland

  • 1360 Another outbreak of the Black Death in Britain in 1360-1362

  • 14th April 1360 Black Monday was:
    so full dark of mist and hail and so bitter cold that many men died on their horsebacks with the cold

  • 1368 Another outbreak of the Black Death in Britain in 1368-1369

  • 1375 Another outbreak of the Black Death in Britain

  • 1378 Johannes Stra of Handsworth Woodhouse approached a coal pit, and suddenly by accident fell in and was drowned

  • 1390 Outbreaks of the plague in 1390-1391
