Opened in 1827-1828 to replace Doghouse Wesleyan Chapel.
In 1837, a breakaway group established the Bridge Street (Central) Methodist Church, Todmorden.
The Church was enlarged in 1877.
A new larger Sunday school for the Church opened on
9th March 1907.
