We would like to welcome you to the Busbee Busby and Variations Database. This site was created by Barbara Peddicord. Her vision to create a gathering place for the Busbee Busby family researchers has resulted in this accumulation of the vast data now available on this site. In January 2002, Barbara passed the torch to Farrell Busbee. Farrell administers both the database and the Busby list on Rootsweb. Farrell in turn enlisted the aid of Tiffany to help design and implement his vision and the restructuring of the Busbee Busby Database.
This database is dedicated to preserving the history of the Busbee Busby and Variations Surnames. Data has been donated by many Busbee Busby and Variations researchers from many branches of the family.
We need your help! Please consider donating your data to the database. We are requesting family reports, primary record transcriptions, gedcom's, links to your favorite Busbee Busby sites, anything that you might have that you would like to donate. We would like to expand the site to include international Busbee Busby and Variations Researchers and their data. If you need help contributing data please email Farrell.
We now have a Discussion Email List to help with finding those lost cousins, see the bottom of this page for instructions on how to join. We will be happy to share whatever data we have with all.

The Busby/Busbee DNA Project by Wayne Busbice. "I have been encouraged by Gaila to set up a project to do DNA testing for Busby descendants. My wife Pat and I have agreed to explore this project. Many of us have run into a brick wall at the level of Benjamin, John, William, Zachariah, and Needham Busby and others at about 1700. To make it work we need at least two male participants from each Busby ancestor of that generation. Males only need apply! With some preliminary investigation, I have been offered a group rate of $99 per person. A kit is mailed to you and a painless cheek swab taken by you in your own home. This will compare 12 markers. Privacy has been assured. For more information Family Tree DNA - we do genetic tests for your genealogy questions! Any male Busby descendants who are interested, please contact me and send your Busby lineage as far back as you know to Wayne We already have three volunteers for descendants of Benjamin and William Reese. Several of us have been corresponding about this and we're very excited about the possibility of confirming further ancestry." |
