William Burt + 1) Mary Spradling 2) Milly Glaze

Family of William Burt and 1) Mary Spradling
2) Milly Glaze

William Burt was born on 15 September 1771 in South Carolina. There is some speculation that he was the son of William Burt born in 1736 in Isle of Wight Co., VA [3], but no evidence has been found for this.

He married Mary Spradling circa 1795. Deedie McIntire [1] suggests that "Mary was probably a daughter of Charles Spradling, who lived in Charleston District, SC and in Camden district, SC."

William Burt secondly married Milly Glaze on 29 March 1850 in Georgia. He died on 2 June 1852 at age 80.

  3. Deedie McIntire, in her book [1], suggests that the father of this William "was probably William Burt, b. 3-27-1736, in Newton Parish, Virginia." This then would be in Isle of Wight County, VA, and the son of an Elias Burt and wife Rebecca.
