  • He was a Friend. His name appears on the Purchase Quarterly Meeting records in 1770. He occupied land belonging to the Philipse Manor as early as 1745, paying £3 a year for 250 acres, which he purchased in the name of his brother Caleb, of the Commissioners of the State of New York in 1785 for £988, the property having been forfieted by Philipse who was a Loyalist. The point of junction of the towns of New Castle, North Castle, and Mt. Pleasant is on this land.2
  • His will was dated in 1803 proved 7 Nov 1808. A farmer of Mt. Pleasant, Westchester County.2
