In testimony thereof they have agreed with one another about the fixed sum of money that Jacop Hendrickse shall pay when they reach the age of majority or marry, viz: the sum of 2400 guldens, i.e. twenty-four hundred gulden in money or grain or animals at market price. Now the children are by name the following: Hillegantie Jacops, aged eleven years, the next Hendricke Jacops, aged nine years, the third Bartlet Hacops, aged seven years, the fourth and fifth who are twins Hendrick Jacops and Catlyntje Jacops, the sixth or youngest Cornelia Jacops.
    These shall inherit the aforesaid 2400 gulden, each a rghtful sixth part, which is 400 gulden, and if any of the children shall die, the share of the deceased shall fall to the father. Further Jacob hendrickse promises to have the children taught reading and writing according to his means. This done in the Town of Midwout, this 29th of August, 1684."12
