"Peter White, JR., son of Peter White and Margaret Stull, was born about 1762 in Frederick (present-day Washington) County, MD.  He was married by 1797 to Nancy Caldwell.  They had four surviving children. (49)

On Mar. 18, 1797 Peter White, Jr. sold 310 acres of land called 'Resurvey on End of Strife' which had been willed to him by his father to his mother, Margaret White, except for 11 acres that had been bequeathed by his father to other children. (50) On Apr. 20, 1797 the Washington Spy reported that a man by the name of Peter White had been jailed on suspicion of horse stealing, but it has not been solidly proven it refers to this man. On Nov. 11, 1797 Peter White executed two deeds with his mother concerning his father's land. (51)

Peter White, Jr. appears to have left Maryland by 1800 and was not found it that or later census records.  On June 3, 1818, Peter White signed a receipt for $80.00 current money 'in full share of the personal estate of my mother Margaret White deceased. (52)  The Hagerstown paper noted on Apr. 9, 1822 that Peter White had a letter at the Hagerstown Post Office.  The later residence of this family and the names of his children have not been found.
