"They were members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Uniontown.  Absalom was a fine carpenter and had the contract for all the woodwork in the original church building which was completed in 1834.  It was 40 by 60 feet in size.  The contract was for $1240.00 and included all materials, the lumber, hardware, nails and hinges, locks for the doors, and glass for the windows.  Absalom lived on Morgantown St. in Uniontown.  1 Nov 1845 he sold his two story log house and one-fourth acre lot to his cousins Emanuel and Sarah (franks) Brown.  His neighbors were John Prettyman on the south and Isaac Beeson on the eat, a public alley ran north of the property.  The consideration of $500.00.  Some time after the 1850 census Absalom and his family moved to Indiana, probably by 1854."

On his consenting also to furnish the glass and do the necessary priming his bid was accepted."
