Isaac Wells took the oath of allegiance of Scituate Feb. 1, 1639 He removed to Barnstable where he served as a juryman in 1642. In his will of March 5, 1673 his only bequest was: To "Margarett my loveing wife", after all charges are paid. "all the rest of my estate in houses lands Debts stocke Casttle house hold stuffe or in whatsoever else it may be in." This will was made June 25, 1673 and witnessed by Thomas Hinckley and Joseph Laythorpe. "An Inventory of the estate of Isake Wells of Barnstable Deceased taken the 24th December 1673 by Thomas Lathorp Joseph Laythorp and James Lewis. The real estate was "houses lands meddow" 70 pounds "Item smiths tooles" 10 pounds "which were Disposed of by Isacke Wells to James Lewis longe before his Death." Margaret wells the wife of Isacke Wells "made oath to the Inventory, 7 Mar. 1673.
