"Shoemaker at Amherst Dec 1796 with a shop next to Jeremy Moody. Rufus bought a
home lot at Amherst April 1804, cordwainer at Amherst. In 1805 he had a small
lot, which he sold to Aaron Moody in July 1806. Res of Amherst 1810. poll tax
only. He moved to Rochester (Ma/NY?)
After Rachel died, Rufus remarried to Lucretia Nash and had five children with
her: "Second wife joined 1st Ch Oct 1809; liv at Amh 1810 "settled
in Rochester, 5 children."
