"I lois Lathrop of Lebanon in the county of Grafton and State of New Hampshire aged seventy four years do depose and say that in the month of April in the year of Our Lord Seventeen Hundred and Eighty four I was present at the house of Zalmon Aspinwell in said Lebanon and saw Richard Lyman married to Mehitable Palmer the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Isiah Potter. Mr & Mrs. Lyman some time after this removed to the town of Enfield, and she does not know anything further about them. Lois Lathrop

Oct 12, 1843, Richard Lyman, administrator of estate of Mehitable Lyman, deceased on 8 April 1843. His father, Richard Lyman, deceased on 4  May 1838, had received a pension of $96 per annum but his mother, Mehitable, had not made application for a pension.

(VI) Richard (6), son of Richard (5) Lyman, was born at Mansfield, Connecticut, September 22, 1761, died May 4, 1830. He served in the Revolution, enlisting at the age of fifteen from Lebanon, Connecticut. He served for three years, being discharged at Springfield, New Jersey. He married, April 2, 1784, Mehitable Palmer, at Lebanon, New Hampshire, moving soon after to Kingston, now Granville, Vermont, and from there to Duxbury, Vermont, where he died. Children: Jesse, born January 22. 1785: Betsey, July 22, 1787; Joseph, June 6, 1790; Mehitable, June 9, 17-; Anna, married Lowell Greenleaf; Elijah, died unmarried; Richard, mentioned below; Lavinia, married Cyrus Morse, of Montpelier.
