Will of Samuel Newell Jr.

In the name of God, Amen.  The last will and testament of Samuel Newell, the 2d of Farmington, in the county of Hartford and colony of Connecticut, in New England, made this 24th day of June, 1750, viz:  The said Samuel Newell being at this time in health of body through the goodness of God, and in the possession of my reason, for which I bless His holy name; but grown into age so that I cannot expect to continue in this life very long, I am therefore desirous to prevent trouble among my surviving children, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, and do desire my executor, whom I shall hereafter appoint, to see that this my last will and testament may be duly executed.  I desire to commit my soul and body to God as my Creator, to Jesus Christ as my merciful redeemer, through the merits of whose blood and perfect obedience I hope to obtain salvation, first as touching such worldly estate that God has entrusted w me with.
Item: I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife the use of one-third part of my movable estate during her natural life, and to her disposal forever, tools excepted.
2d. I give and bequeath unto my two oldest sons Samuel and Isaac twenty shillings apiece in money, with what I have already given them.
3d. I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Sarah Fiske, the sum of one pound money, with what I have already given to her.
4thly.  I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Newell, and to her heirs forever, two hundred pounds money.
