Parentage of Catherine LeFebre Posted by: James Russell Brokaw Date: December 26, 2000 at 21:52:53 In Reply to: European origins of the Brokaw Family by Dennis L. Brokaw, Sr. of 441

Catherine LeFevre (or LeFebre), second wife of Bourgon Broucard, was not the daughter of Abraham LeFevre and Antoinette Jerrian, as stated on the Long Island Genealogy site ("Descendants of Bourgon Broucard" http://www.longislandgenealogy.com/broucard/surnames.htm , nor was she the sister of Magdalena LeFevre, wife of Joost Durie.

On a letterhead from the HUGUENOT HISTORICAL SOCIETY, NEW PALTZ, NEW YORK, dated April 24, 1982, the following excerpt from the Walloon Congregation Records, Mannheim: "Broucard - Duryea ... 4283 Royer Broucard, habitant of this city, widower of Anne Bernard, and Jeanne l'emond, widow of Jean le Fevre, bourgeois, weaver of his city, have been married in this church the 18th Dec. 1666 by Mr. Molerus. By dispensation.

4284 Bourgon Broucard, brother of the above named Royer, habitant of this city, widower of Marie du May and Catherine le Fevre, y. woman, native of Resterne in the low country, daughter of the late Jean le Fevre and of Jeanne l'Emond above named, were married the 18th Dec. 1666 by Mr. Molerus.

...4479 Joses du Rieus, son of Simon duRieus and of Adriene Roul, and Magdeleine le Fevre, y. woman, daughter of Anthoine le Fevre and of Antoinette Vilain, have been married in this church the 28 Feb. 1672. ..."
