FATHER

John Holm

WIFE

Susan Powers

The first record we have for Tex is the 1900 census for Bowler, Carbon, Wyoming.  This census says he and Susan C. had been married for two years.  He is listed as a stagecoach driver.

Aaron "Tex" Holm founded Holm Lodge about seven miles from the east entrance to Yellowstone Park in 1898.  Through the Holm Transportation Company, they conducted tourists through the Yellowstone.  See more information at     http://geyserbob.org/camp-holm.html

Susan Powers left a turbulent marriage behind in Johnson Co. IN about 1888, joined a Wild West show and somehow ended up in Cody, Wyoming where she met and married Tex Holm.  She wrote letters home to the two children she had left behind with her ex-husband saying she knew Buffalo Bill.

Her son Ray, after he married, visited her in Wyoming.  And when she developed arthritis she went back to Johnson Co. IN and lived for a short time with her daughter, Ethel Spillman.

Susan is seated on the horse in the middle.  Other people are unidentified
