Jacob Hauck emigrated to the USA from the Port of Le Havre, France, at the
age of 31 years and arrived in the USA in July 1832. He was accompanied by his
wife, Margaret Zimmerle Hauck, their daughter Margaret, and their new born son,
Jacob Hauck II, who was "Born at Sea". The Hauck's were traveling with Philip
(John P.) Zimmerle, younger brother of Margaret Zimmerle Hauck.
Jacob Hauck and Philip (John P.) Zimmerle were granted citizenship in Knox
County, Vincennes, Indiana on September 13, 1836 See document on page for his
wife, Margaretha Zimmerle.
Jacob Hauck became the administrator for the estate of
Phillip Jacob Zimmerle. The estate was to
be paid to Philip Zimmerle, Philip (John P.) Zimmerle, George P. Zimmerle,
Margaret Zimmerle Hauck, and sisters Catherine Zimmerle Doerr and Elizabeth
Zimmerle Mitz.
Jacob Hauck died before he could complete the estate of Philip Jacob Zimmerle.
The estates of Philip Jacob Zimmerle and Jacob Hauck were completed by John Von
Gunten, the son-in-law of Jacob Hauck. The estate for Philip Jacob Zimmerle took
10 years to complete.
