Grandson Deering gave a deposition in the lawsuit of his father, Simeon B. Deering against Job Stevenson in 1839 in Scott Co., KY  
Deposition saying lot worth about $100
 
Two more depositions saying lot was worth $100 and that Simeon did a lot of free work for Job Stevenson and made many improvements to the land
   
Three sons of Simeon B. Deering state that their father did a lot of work for Job Stevenson  The three sons signing are, Sanford Deering, Grandison T. Deering and Oscar F. Deering
 



He is living in Clay Co., MO in 1840 with a wife and three young male children. One of his brothers is probably living with him since there are two males, aged 20-30

On March 13, 1847 Grandison T. Deering sold Plat #43 in the Old Town of Independence to William Ford "in consideration of the debt and trust herein after mentioned and created and the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid." Grandison then gave a promisary note to William Patton to wit "Twelve months after date I promise to pay to the order of William Patton, the sum of One Hundred Dollars for value received of him with ten per cent interest from the present date 13th of March 1847 until paid." (Deed Bk L pg 598 Jackson Co., MO)
William Ford was the father of his wife. William Patton was probably related to his brother William D. Deering's wife, Mary Jane Patton.
Sep 1, 1847 Deed Bk M pg 273 Jackson Co., MO states that Richard Fristoe, deceased, "entered into contract in writing with grandison T. Deering to sell him Lot 43 in Independence, MO. for $700.
On Feb 22, 1848 G. T. Deering purchased 80 acres of land in Jackson Co., MO from Dwight and Louisa Spencer. (Deed Bk N pg 28)
This same land was sold back to Dwight Spencer on Sep 5, 1848 by Grandison T. Deering and Letitia, his wife. (Deed BK N 321 Jackson Co., MO)
In May of 1852 James M Brady, administrator of the estate of William Ford, deceased, to wit "his children, Luticia Deering, Rebecca Shock, Oliver Ford, and Ann Rice Ford all residing in Jackson Co., MO State of Missouri except Lutitia Deering who resides in the Pottowatomie County." (Jackson County MO Wills and Administration Book H pg 376)

In the 1857state census for Johnson Co,. Kansas there is both a G T Deering and a W. F. Deering listed.

In 1860 he and Letitia are in Leavenworth, KS with five children. Occupation blacksmith

In 1865 they are in Wyandotte KS Still a blacksmith there in 1875

In 1880 he and Letitia are in Delaware Twp, Jefferson Co., KS G. T. Deering is listed as a blacksmith with parents that were born in VA. His wife's name in the 1885 state census for Kansas was "Mary" age 65
