The tombstone of Ruth Davis states that she was in her 75th year when she died in 1748 so she was born about 1674. (1) Her husband, John Linnell, was about three years older.  He was her first cousin.  (2)  They probably married in Barnstable about 1695 as their first child was born in 1696. They had 7 children.  We know her name was Ruth Davis since she is named as "Ruth Linel" in her father's will of 1701. (3) And, in 1717, after the death of her brother Benjamin who was named executor of her father's will, her husband, John Linnell, was named executor for John Davis as "your father-in-law." (4)
They were married for 53 years.  She wrote her will on 4 May 1737 and her husband had written his will on 1 Oct 1737.  Her husband John Linnell died on 9 Feb 1747/8 and his estate was probated on 6 Apr 1748. (5) She died three months late on 8 May 1748 (1) and her estate was probated on 5 Jul 1748. (6)
