Isaac Davids, who was a son of Christofel Davids who came from England, to
America, and was an Indian interpreter.
"It begins with Christopher Davids (Davis) born about 1616 - d. in 1680. He came
to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, 1636, from England, and settled at Fort Orange,
now Albany, New York. He was a Captain in the Eusopus Indian Wars of 1652. Was
called "Kit" for short. He mar. Cornelia de Vos, who d. in 1657, daugther of
Andries de Vos. Christopher mar. 2nd to Maria Martensen, 1664, and their son,
Isaadc Davis (called Davids by the Dutch element) was b. in 1668 and d. in 1712,
and was of Marbletown, Ulster Co., NY. He was married in 1791, to Jannetje
Mouritz who was bp June 18, 1767, at Kingston, NY, a daughter of Frederick
Pietersen Mouritz, and wife Engeltje Hendrick. son of Isaac and Jannetje Davis
were - George Davis, b 1703, and bp Jan 1, 1704, Marbletown, and Christopher
Davis, bp in Marbletown, 1709, who mar. Elizabeth Brodhead, bp in 1713, Isaac
and Jannetje Davis resided at Marbletown, and Kingston, where he died 1712."
