Hannah Crosby was christened on 31 Oct 1634 in Holm-On-Spalding, Moor,
Yorkshire, England, with her father listed as "Roberti." (1) Her
parents, Robert Crosby and Constance Bringham had married about 1622 and Hannah
was their fifth and last child. Her father died in Yorkshire, England
about 1640 when she was six years old. Her mother, as a widow with three
daughters, came to Rowley before 1643 when Hannah would have been about 9 years
old. (2) When she was 21 she married John Johnson in Rowley on 6 Dec 1655.

Hannah and John Johnson had five children. He died intestate on 29 Jan
1685/6 in Rowley when her youngest son was 14. She was named executor and
received one third of his estate. Her children reached an agreement on the
estate in 1703. (4)
Hannah wrote her own will naming her son Samuel Johnson, and grandsons Samuell
Palmer and John Palmer. She also named her two daughters Hannah Palmer and
Elizabeth Bailey and her grandchildren Hannah and Elizabeth Bailey. (5)
According to her tombstone Hannah Crosby Johnson died 25 Dec 1717. (6)
