Hannah Cobb was christened on 5 Oct 1639 in Scituate, Plymouth Colony. (1)
Her father was listed as Henry Cobb. Hannah was the fourth of seven
children and her mother, Patience Hurst Cobb, died in 1648 when Hannah was eight
years old and her youngest brother less than two months old. Her father
remarried in 1649. Hannah's grandfather, James Hurst, wrote his will on 10
Dec 1657 leaving Hannah 20 shillings.(2)
Hannah Cobb married Edward Lewis in
Barnstable on 09 May 1661. (3) They had six children. Her husband died in 1703
but Hannah did not died until 17 Jan 1729/30 at the age of 90 years, 3 months
and 12 days. (4)

(2) Will of grandfather, James Hurst
The will of James Hurst, dated 10 Dec 1657 and probated 2 Mar 1657/8 mentions
his grandchildren, John, Gershom, James, Eleazer, Hannah, and Patience
Cobb and Mary Duham .
"James Hurst of Plymouth" bequeathed to "wife Garteud Hurst my dwelling house at
Plymouth with all my land thereunto belonging and all outhousing" for her life,
"and at her decease all the abovesaid particulars I bequeath to my grandchild
John Cobb"; "my wife [to] have and enjoy all my goods and cattles"; to "my
grandchild Gershom Cobb ... all my right of land at Panckatessett"; to "my
grandchild John Cobb forty acres of my land at Coaksett or Cushenett and to my
grandchildren James Cobb, Gershom Cobb and Eliezer Cobb twenty acres apiece of
my land at Coaksett or Cushenett"; to "my three grandchildren Mary Dunham,
Hannah Cobb and Patience Cobb 20s. apiece"; "my wife" sole executrix; "my loving
friends Mr. Cushman and Gyles Rickard Senior" supervisors. The inventory of
James Hurst was taken December 24, 1657 and totaled 97 pounds 6s., including 36
pounds in real estate: 20 pounds of land at Plymouth, 1 pound of "land lying
against Rhode Island belonging to Plymouth," and 15 pounds representing his
"share of Purchase land lying at Coaksett".
