Miss Margaret Jane Barklow
The many friends of Miss Margaret Jane Barklow will be grieved to hear of her
death which occurred at her home 826 Third street at 7 o’clock this morning,
March 26, 1919, after more than two years of intense but patient suffering.
Miss Barklow was born in Portsmouth, Oct. 21, 1845, and was the daughter of
Stout and Sarah Jane Jeffords Barklow, being their oldest child. Her parents,
three brothers and one sister preceded her to their last home. One sister, Mrs.
Agnes Roe, is left to mourn her loss. Also an aunt, Mrs. Ross Brennan of
Cincinnati, who was with her till the end. Miss Barklow was a member of the
Christian church which she had joined in early womanhood and attended faithfully
until ill health prevented her going. She loved her home and was devoted to her
family. Her [three words unreadable] in looking after the welfare of those she
loved. A devoted daughter, a loving sister and a loyal friend has passed to her
reward. The many friends of Mrs. Roe will sympathize with her in her great loss.
The funeral will be from the home Friday afternoon at two o’clock with Rev.
Chas. R. Oakley in charge. Friends are invited to the services. Burial will be
private.
