ALBERT BROCK, Pineville, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born June 22, 1908, in Pineville, a son of the late Jarvis and Mattie Lilly Brock.He had been a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Hestel, Melvin and Lessie Brock, Amanda Wilson, Laura Daniels, Maudie Rogers and Rosie Hall. Survivors include his sons, Lloyd Brock and Doug Brock; brothers, Jay Brock and Charles Brock; sisters, Edna Hoskins and Ruth Brock; and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brock Cemetery, Pineville. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.

ANNA FAYE BROCK, 56, of Forge Ridge, TN, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was born in Red Bird on June 21, 1947, daughter of the late Monroe and Oda Saylor Brock. She had been a cook at Right Fork School. She attended Forge Ridge Baptist Church and was a member at Saylor Pentecostal Church at Crockett.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Noel Benjamin Lawson, grandchildren, Travis Brandon and Holly Diana Helton, sister, Geneva Brock, and brothers, Harlan, Noble and Arlie Brock. Survivors include her husband Marvin Brock; daughters, Dianne and Troy Helton, Stoney Fork, Valerie and Duane Gregory, Pineville and Marissa and Steven Brock, Forge Ridge, TN; step-children, Connie and Bobbie Brock, Walton, KY, Diann and Nick Yelton, Taylor Mill, KY and Kenneth and Joan Brock, Harrogate, TN; grandchildren, Jillian and Brooke Helton, Landon and Chad Brock, McKenzie Hoskins and Cameron Brock; great-grandchild, Ethan Troy Smith; step-grandchildren, Melissa Bach, Andrea, Molly and Holly Yelton and Michael Brock; brothers and sister, Burley and Linda Brock, Fort Wayne, IN, J.B. and Roberta Brock, Harrogate, TN, Darrell and Edna Brock, Stoney Fork and Reva Saylor, Arjay; and a host of family members and friends.

ARTHUR BROCK, 77, of Calvin, KY., died Thursday, April 21, 1988 at the Pineville Community Hospital following a long illness. He was born March 2, 1911, in Bell County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Grant Brock.  He was a retired custodian from the Vocational School and had been a lifelong resident of Bell Co.  He was a believer in the Pentecostal faith.  He is survived by his wife, Pearl Proffitt Brock,Corbin; one daughter, Debbie Gail Gabbard, Corbin; two step-daughters, Betty Hayes, Corbin, KY., and Mary Ellen Saylor, OH; two sons, Jimmy Ray Brock and Arthur Henry Brock, both of Corbin; one grandson, Henry Lee Proffitt, Corbin; and several half-sisters and half-brothers. Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 1988 at the Arnett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Archie Gaylor and Rev. Bill Sinkhorn.  Burial was in the Capito Cemetery, Rock Hollow, KY.  Music for the service was provided by Rev. Bill Sinkhorn and Jack Elliott.

MR. AUDIE �Tooter� MURPHY BROCK, age 27, a resident of Pineville, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Jan 14, 1986. He was born June 9, 1958 at Church Creek, Maryland, the son of Buster Brock and Angela Jackson Brock. He believed in the Baptist Faith. Funeral Services for Mr. Brock were held at 4 p.m. Friday, January 17, 1986 at the Durham Duneral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Poore and Teddy Collins officiating. BONNIE HATMAKER BROCK, age 68, a resident of Crockett, Ky., died Saturday, April 1, 1989 at her home. She was born January 8, 1922 in Harlan County, Ky., the daughter of the late Jeff HATMAKER and Pearlie REID HATMAKER.  She was a member of the Saylor Pentecostal Church at Crockett, Ky. She is survived by her husband, Virgil BROCK, Crockett, Ky.; three children, Mrs. Dorothy LEWALLEN, Cromwell, Ind., Rad BROCK, Shawanne, Tenn., and Mrs. Anna SHRIVER, Lapeer, Mich.; three brothers, Troy HATMAKER, Bartow, Fla., Burns HATMAKER, Eagle Lake, Fla., and James HATMAKER, Bartow, Fla.; five sisters, Mrs. Oleen McCALL, Auburndale, Fla., Mrs. Mary Ruth BRYANT and Mrs. Joann McCOY, both of Lakeland, Fla., Mrs. Vivian SCALES and Mrs. Kay TROOP, both of Winterhaven, Fla.; eleven grandchildren. MRS. CARRIE BROCK, a resident of Madison Heights, Michigan died Tuesday, November 20, 1990 in Madison Heights, Mich. She was born July 15, 1897 in Bell County, Ky., the daughter of the late Gord and Sue NICELY. She believed in the Baptist faith.  Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry BROCK and one son Robert BROCK. Survivors include one son, Lindsey BROCK, Hazelpark, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Cleo HILL, Madison Heights and Mrs. Ola YORK, Pineville, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Saturday, November 24, at 10:00 a.m. at the Durham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. William O�NAN and Danny ROBBINS officiating. CHARLES BROCK, Hillsboro, OH, age 81, died Saturday Oct. 23, 2004. Born August 13, 1923 in Brodhead, KY to  David and Martha Brock. Preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Ethel Marie Brock, one daughter, Linda Michelle Brock, one grandson, Jerry Lee Helton, and ten brothers and sisters. CHARLIE BROCK, Ewing, Va., 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Tri-State Comprehensive Care Center in Harrogate, Tenn. A lifelong resident of Lee County, Va., he was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Brock Brewster; mother and father, Sarah and Finley Brock; and brother, Willie Brock.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ball�s Chapel Cemetery in Rose Hill. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home, Rose Hill, Va., which is in charge of arrangements.

In Loving Memory Of our Father

Edward Thomas Brock, Sr. was born February 23, 1923 in Garrard County, Kentucky to John Jeff Brock and Mildred Schrader. He died May 17, 2005 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

   He is survived by his three children Sheila Brock, Cheryl Brock and Edward Thomas Brock, Jr. and ten beautiful grandchildren.  He had 8 brothers and sisters.  Robert William Brock, George Brock, Lucy (Ann) Medley, Elsie Schilling, Charles Brock, Walter Mitchell Brock,  Henry Richard Brock and Helen Brock.

   He was a very private man, but there wasn�t a day that went by that he wasn�t asking how everyone else was doing. He loved his family and loved to talk about them.   He loved to talk about the good times in life instead of dwelling on the difficult times. He will be missed by all who knew him.  He had requested that his body be donated to science to help others.  A memorial will  be held at a later date.  Burial will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati.

ELLEN BROCK, Mrs. Ellen Brock Buried Wednesday at Locust Grove
     Mrs. Ellen Brock, 84, wife of Mr. William Brock, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, at her home on Rt. 2.
     A native of Leslie County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Jemimia Brock. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Fannie Simpson and Mrs. Stella Goins, both of Route 2, London, and five sons; Brock of Keavy; Chester Brock of Corbin; and Frank Brock of Pontiac, Michigan. One sister Mrs. Barbara Smith of Leslie County also survives.
     Funeral services for Mrs. Brock were held Friday at the Colony Baptist Church with the Rev. Caleb McFaddin officiating. Burial followed int the Locust Grove cemetery at Keavy with House Funeral Home in charge.

FANNIE BROCK, a lifelong resident of Bell County, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2000 at Pineville Community Hospital.  She was 59. Funeral service for Ms. Brock was Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at Mill Creek Baptist Church, Kettle Island, Kentucky with Rev. Ray Collett and Rev. Rondald Howard officiating.  Music was by Mickey Wilder. Burial was in Stoney Fork Cemetery, Stoney Fork, Kentucky. 
  Pallbearers were Albert Haynes, Chris Hale, Hedgle Saylor, Jerry Forrester, L.T. Collett, Jr., and Charles Collett. Fannie Brock was born October 28, 1940.  She was a daughter of Hiley Forester Brock and the late Manford Brock. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Hiley Forester Brock; two sisters, Ann Blevins, William and Ronella Whitehead; brothers-in-law, Ralph Williams and Emanuel Whitehead; best friend and companion of 23 years, Nelson Collett; and a special friend, Gracie Collett; six children, Patty Miracle, Betty Haynes, Margaret Brock, Virgil Brock, Janice Hale and Earl D. GERTRUDE BROCK, a homemaker of Pineville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 15, 2000 at New Tazwell, Tennessee.  She was 87.
    Funeral service for Mrs. Brock will be Wednesday, May 17, 2000 at Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Geroge Neal, and Rev Van Johnson officiating.  Music was by Henrietta Johnson and daughter, Tammy.
    Burial was in Jackson Cemetery, Laurel Hill, Kentucky.  Family and friends served as pallbearers.
    In addition to her parents, Jim Greene and Gelanie Johnson Greene, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Brock; one daughter, Carolyn Sue Mason; five brothers and four sisters.
    Gertrude Brock was born in Bell County, Kentucky November 23, 1912.  She was a lifelong resident of this area and she believed in the Holiness faith.
    Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Charles Brock and wife Dessie, Willie G. Brock and wife, Thelma, all of Calvin, KY; one daughter, Helen Pearl Brock, New Tazwell, TN; nine grandchildren, Eddie Burns, Billy Joe Burns, Frankie Pierce, Mark Brock, Mike Brock, Jackie Mason, Lisa Sharpe, Melissa Thompson and Tim Brock; four
great-grandchildren, Kacy Burns, Joseph Burns, Victoria Greene, and James Jeremy Sharpe.

GLYN VINCENT BROCK, 66, of Seymour, TN, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the Fort Sanders Seieville Medical Center. He was born in Bell County, KY on April 9, 1938 a son of the late Grant, Sr. and Rebecca Jane Hendrickson Brock. He was a believer in the Pentecostal Holiness Faith and had worked in Home Improvements. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Christine Brock and brothers, Grant, Jr. and Cammie Brock. Survivors include his son, Christopher Steven Brock; sisters and brothers, Bernice Thomas, Mildred Hoskins, Alma Partin, J.C, H.C. and Curtis Brock and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be at 2 P.M. Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Grant Brock Sr. Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. GOLDEN BROCK, 78 passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital due to injuries sustained from a car accident.A great warrior has gone down, but not in defeat. Born June 10, 1925 in Fields, KY, he was the son of the late Bentley and Chloe Sizemore Brock. He served as a deacon for 46 years at Saylor Pentecostal Church of God at Crockett. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II, and he had been a coal miner for 35 years and was a member of the UMWA and SLY Unions. In addition to his parents, brothers, Delbert, J.B., Lester and Rev. Elmer Brock; and sisters, Rosa Miller and Elva Lawson preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Chesney Lawson Brock or Arjay; children, Eugene and Mary Kay Brock of Fort Wayne, IN, Evelyn and Estille B. Gregory of Arjay, Barbara and Duane Buell of Fort Wayne, IN, Joyce and Jerry Cox or Arjay and Richard and Lois Brock of Arjay; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Virgil and Melinda Brock of Arjay, Homer and Ida Brock of Stoney Fork, Hazel Vick of LaPorte, IN, Lillie Mae Hubbard and Sudie Marie Penley both of Fort Wayne, IN; a host of nieces, nephews and friends, and fellow deacons of Crockett Church, Bro. GRACE BARKER BROCK, daughter of the late Christian Sievers and Malinda Barker, was born on July 18, 1906 at Trimble, Kentucky. She departed this life on Friday December 14, 2001 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital having attained the age of 95 Years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Everett Brock who preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Christine Muse and her husband Lindel of Nancy, Kentucky and Cheryl Burnett and her husband David of Somerset, Kentucky.; seven grandsons, Eric Muse and his wife Betty, Stephen Muse and his wife Judy, Doug Muse and his wife Teresa, Dwight Muse and his wife Tawnya, Joe Muse and his wife Kim, John David Burnett and Mark Lee Burnett; one granddaughter, Malinda Yanders and her husband Doug; one niece Betty Dalton; nine great grandchildren, Brock Muse, Charlene Muse, Ryan Muse, Holly Muse, Chasity Rollins, Christopher Muse, Amanda Muse, Grace Muse and Mollie Ella Yanders. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Oval Barker and Farris Lee Barker; one great grandchild Austin Douglas Yanders; one niece Jewell Hart Barker Norfleet and one nephew Weldon Barker. Grace was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and the Pisgah Homemakers Club. HIRAM BROCK JR., EX-HARLAN MAYOR HIRAM BROCK JR. DIES, age 82, former Harlan mayor (1963 to 1969) and state representative, died yesterday of pneumonia and congestive heart failure. Born March 7, 1917, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky Law School.  He was elected to the state legislature in the early 1940s, before joining the service and serving aboard a transport ship in World War II.  Survived by wife, Eula, and two sons and grandson.  A memorial service will be held at the Harlan Presbyterian Church at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

JAMES BROCK, 79, Survived by Nine children, 67 Grandchildren, 49 Great Grand-children Harlan, Jan. 29.-James Brock, 79, farmer, and father of Senator Hiram Brock of Harlan, died at the home of Senator Brock here last night. His death was said to be due to old age. He was the father of thirteen children, nine living, of whom five are in Harlan. These are Senator H. M. Brock, representative of this district, W. A. Brock, lawyer,  Amon Brock, Mrs. Sam Caplin and Mrs. Owen Sizemore. James Brock was born in Clay county and has spent most of his life in Leslie county. He came to Harlan ten years ago and had been living in the home of senator Brock for some time. He is survived by sixty-seven grandchildren and forty-nine great-grandchildren. burial will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in
the Brock family cemetery at Loyal.

Born June 9, 1914, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Jess and Mary Holmes Brock. He was retired after serving 22 years in the Army and was a member of South Christian Church in Louisville. He was the widower of Captola Brock.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Louise Speake of Lancaster and Betty Prewitt of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, C.H. Brock of Lancaster; a sister, Katie Gilbert of Irvine; six stepgrandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to his prents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Zola and Judy Brock and brothers, Dewey and Arvel Brock and grandparents, Jonathon and Judy Wilson Brock. He was a beloved brother of his sisters and their husbands, Phronia and Paul Parker of Pineville, Oma and Fred Helton of Kettle Island, Vina Smith of Straight Creek, Mary and Garner Middleton of Barbourville and Alice and McArthur Mills of Straight Creek and a host of nieces and nephews. Services were Saturday at the Old Straight Creek Trinity Tabernacle with Rev. Danny Daniels, Rev. Bobby Grubbs and Rev. Herman Denny. Music was by the church. JUDY CALDWELL BROCK, 75, a resident of Stoney Fork, Ky., died Monday, October 4, 1989 at her home. She was born December 12, 1913 in Leslie Co. Ky., the daughter of the late Elihue CALDWELL, and China ROARK CALDWELL.  She was a member of the Stoney Fork Pentecostal Church of God.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Felix BROCK, Sr., four daughters, Maudie CALDWELL, Lillie Mae BROCK, China Ellen COX, Ida Mae BROCK and one son, Willie James BROCK, one brother, Joe CALDWELL. LELAND BROCK, 76, Corbin, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2001. He was born September 20, 1925 in Laurel County to the late Robert and Callie Tuttle Brock. He had lived and worked in Cincinnati and Gainesville, Florida
after leaving Kentucky years ago. Two brothers, Malcolm and Howard Brock, preceded him in death.
He is survived by six children, a sister, Ruth Elliott of Corbin; a nephew, Gary W. Elliott of London; and two
nieces, June Johnson and Marietta Pennington of Corbin. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 5 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Stansberry Cemetery.

LILLIAN ELLIOTT BROCK, a homemaker of Stoney Fork, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 15, 2000 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.  She was 80.
    Funeral service for Mrs. Brock was Saturday, June 17, 2000 at Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rondald Howard and Rev. Herbie Hoskins, and Rev. Kermitt Creech officiating.  Music was by Mickey Wilder.
    Burial was in Elliott Cemetery at Stoney Fork, Kentucky.  Pallbearers were Ralph Lake, Ty Arnette, Donald Elliott, Chris Elliott, John Allen Elliott, and Dan Elliott.
    In addition to her parents Elige Elliott and Amanda Hoskins Elliott, she was preceded in death by her husband Manford Brock; one sister, Cledith Hoskins; and two brothers, Edgar Elliott and John Elliott.
    Lillian Elliott Brock was born July 14, 1919 in Stoney Fork, Kentucky.  She was a homemaker and was a member of Stoney Fork Baptist Church.
    Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jo Ann Presley, Lexington, KY; son Ray Elliott, Lexington, KY two brothers, Paul Elliott and wife, Bonnie and Cammie Elliott and wife, Mary Helen, all of Pineville, KY; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.

LUCILLE BROCK, 51, of Beverly, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born on July 17, 1951 in Red Bird to Phronia Brock and Clyde Saylor. She had been a homemaker and was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Arnold Lawson. Survivors include her husband, Jim Brock, son, Michael Brock and Tony and Gail Brock, brothers and sisters, Bobby Saylor, Marilyn Saylor, Bonnie Young, Christine and Bobby Knuckles, Susie Saylor, Lonnie and Sue Lawson, Ben Lawson, Dagwood Lawson and Clyde and Kim Saylor; sister-in-law, Geraldine Lawson; special friends, Charles Dallas Brock Upton, Carolyn Lawson, Freda Slusher, Kathy Brock, Faye Knuckles and Mable Brock and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services were Tuesday at the Beverly United Methodist Church with Rev. Eldon Shickell and Rev. Ronnie Hoskins. Music will be by Kathy Brock, Cleveland Nolan, Demus Couch and Joyce Cox. Burial will be in the Mudlick Cemetery at Beverly. Pallbearers will be nephews, family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be Mason Slusher. MANFORD �JUDGE� BROCK, age 74, a resident of Wilderness Trail, Pineville, Ky., died Friday, March 4, 1988 at the Britthaven Health Care Center, Pineville, Ky. He was born March 10, 1913 in Bell County, Ky., the son of the late Andrew Brock and Almedia Saylor Brock. He was a disabled sawmill worker and he believed in the Baptist faith. He is survived by: his wife, Mrs. Lelian Brock, Kettle Island, Ky.; three sisters: Mrs. Minnie Hoskins and Mrs. Versa Rose, both of Pineville; Mrs. Slettie Brock, Beverly, Ky.; several nieces and nephews. Services for Mr. Brock were at 2 .m. Sunday, March 6, 1988 at the Durham Funeral home chapel with Revs. Danny Robbins and Dennis Short. Burial followed in the Brock Family Cemetery, Kettle Island, Ky. Those who served a pallbearers were friends of the family. Durham was in charge of arrangements.

MARY BROCK, age 90, a resident of (Laurel Hill), Pineville, Ky., died Sunday,
January 8, 1989 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born June 24, 1898 in Bell County, Ky., the daughter of the late Tom BROCK and Minnie Jane BROCK.  She was joined in holy matrimony in January of 1914 at Straight Creek, Ky., to Victor BROCK, son of David and Elizabeth BURNS BROCK.  She was a member of the Bird Branch Missionary Baptist Church for over 43 years.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, two sons, Victor, Jr., and Lindsay BROCK. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Margie JACKSON, Robert BROCK, Otis BROCK, Mrs. Betty JACKSON, Mrs. Mae GREENE, all of Pineville, Ky., Mrs. Myrtle NUSS Botkins, Ohio, Vernon BROCK, Scottsville, Ky.; one brother, McKinley BROCK, Covington, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel CROUCHE, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Ellen BOWLIN, LaFollette, Tenn.; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-three great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. NATH BROCK, age 78, a resident of Straight Creek, Ky., died Saturday, March 25, 1989 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born January 20, 1911 in Bell County, Ky., the son of the late Dillard BROCK and Martha SAYLOR BROCK.  He was a veteran of World War II and he believed in the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby and four brothers, Pearl, Vernon, Fred, and Grant. He is survived by two sons, Wayne WALTERS, Tinsley, Ky., and Alvin Nath BROCK, Corbin, Ky.; two brothers, Harold BROCK and Ed BROCK, both of Harlan, Ky.; eight grandchildren. Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 1989 at the Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. PAULINE BROCK, Pineville, 63, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at her home.  She was born in Pineville on Oct. 15, 1937, a daughter of the late Henry and Brummett Bailey.  She was a believer in the Holiness faith and had been a homemaker.

 Survivors include daughters and their husbands, Betty and Steve Jr., Partin of Tennessee, Denise Marie (Brock) and Hershel Edward Knuckles and Melissa Renee Brock and granddaughter, Chastity Denise Knuckles all of Pineville; brothers and sister, Roy Bailey of South Ben, In., Geraldine Napier and Lola Bea Harris and special niece, Tammy Lewis, all of Pineville, special friend David Wayne Collett of Middlesboro and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Blackmont Baptist Church with Rev. David Hampton presiding.  Burial will be in the Little Creek Cemetery at Red Bird.  Pallbearers will be David Wayne Collett, Eddie Knuckles, Ronald Overbay, Jerry Johns, Dewayne Slusher, Adrian Rutherford and Tammy Lewis.

SHIRLEY BROCK, SECO, KENTUCKY: Shirley Brock, 70, died December 26, 2010 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. She is survived by three daughters, Diane (Steve) Honchel of McRoberts, and Tracy Jackson and Patsy (Dwayne) Sexton, all of Isom; a son, Sam Brock of Seco; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Interment was at Green Acres Cemetery under the direction of Letcher Funeral Home.

SILAS WOODSON BROCK,  Mr. S. Woodson Brock, 76 years old, retired farmer, died suddenly at 8:45 o'clock last Thursday morning at his home in London following a heart attack. A member of the current grand jury, Mr. Brock ate breakfast with his family as usual, after which he went into the yard and cut a small amount of grass with a reap hook. Tiring, he returned to the house and told Mrs. Brock he was going to rest on the front porch. He sat in the swing there and a few minutes later expired. Funeral services were held at the Providence Baptist church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Rush and assisted by the Revs. Caleb McFadden and Bill George. Music at the last rites was furnished by the George Quartet. Burial was in the church cemetery by the House Funeral Home. Mr. Brock was born Feb. 21, 1872 the son of James M. and Mary Rowland Brock, near Lida, KY, where he was a farmer and merchant until he retired three years ago and he moved to London. He was twice married, first to Ellen Jones and to this union seven children were born, six of whom survive. After her death he was wed to Mary Jane Gilbert Sasser and to them one child was born. Surviving are this wife, three daughters, Mrs. Barden Gilbert, Lida; Mrs. Hazel Sample, Chicago; and Mrs. Nancy Ward, of Fariston; and four sons, Orville and Casey Brock, Hammond, IN; Daniel Brock, Chicago and Silas Woodson Brock, Jr., Indiana Harbor, IN. He also leaves two brothers, Foster Brock, London Route 4 and Jack Brock, also of Route 4. Six brothers preceded him in death including the late Dr. G.S. Brock on London. There are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

SILLIS "BABE" BROCK a former coal miner of Pineville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2001 at Pineville Community Hospital.  He was 79. Funeral service for Mr. Brock was Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at Bell County Memorial Chapel, Pineville, Kentucky with Rev. Charles Robbins and Rev. Hiram Mason officiating. Music was by Angela Hoskins, Ricky Brock and Shane Funson.  Burial was in Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, East Pineville, Kentucky with his grandsons as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearer was Arthur Jones.  In addition to his parents, Andrew and Millie Pope Brock, he was preceded in death by a son, Sillis Brock, Jr., grandsons, Jim Anthony Brock, Harold Brock, Jr., and P.T. THEA BROCK, 73, Helton, died Monday Morning in Manchester Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The native of Harlan was a member of Green Hill Pentecostal Church of God. He was a retired factory worker of Illinois.Services will be conducted Thursday at 1 pm in the Green Hill Pentecostal Church of God with the Rev. Samps Brock officiating.Burial will follow in Honey Branch Cemetery.
In addition to his wife Hettie Brock of Helton, he is survived by five children, Mrs. Reed Belcher, Bledsoe; Mrs. B.H. Dixon, Chicago, Ill; Donald Brock, Lafollette Tenn.; Charlie Brock Tazewell, Tenn.; and Marvin Broc, Helton.
He is also survived by eight step-children, Claymon Gross, John Gross, Howard Gross, Willis Gross, Kalip Gross, Phebee Gross, Ethel Helton, all of Helton, and Mary Caldwell of Bledsoe.
Also surviving are two brothers, Ples Brock, Crab Orchard, Whitesburg; three sisters, Mahaley Caldwell, Walls; Matilda Brock, Kettle Island; and Elizabeth Schooler, Crab Orchard. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends all day today and Thursday at the residence of Reed
Belcher in Bledsoe. Pallbearers will be Anthony Belcher, Randy Belcher and Ricky Belcher, Amon Brock,

TOMMY MADISON BROCK, Stoney Fork, 54, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Pineville Community Hospital. He was born Sept. 6, 1948, in Pineville to Clarence and Sara Ellen Crank Brock. He was a member of Stoney Fork Pentecostal Community Church, worked as a Truck Driver for Straight Creek Mining, and had been a member of the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sara Ellen Crank Brock; and two grandchildren, Noel and Sierra Bailey. In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Shirley Saylor Brock; daughters. WALTER RAY BROCK SR., Middlesboro, 60, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn. He was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Bell County, a son of Wayne Brock and Ethel Brock of Middlesboro, who survive. He was a member of Shipley Grove Baptist Church, and was a former employee of Mountain Drive Coal Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley D. Brock on April 29, 2000; and three sisters, Helen Brock, Mabel Brock, and Thelma Jean Brock. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Keith Epperson, Tazewell, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Walter Ray Brock Jr. and Kim, Tazewell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Carolyn Brock, Ewing, Va., Roy and Cathy Brock, Middlesboro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Daryl Longworth, Middlesboro, Katherine Frost, Palm Beach, Fla., Margie and David Wyatt, Middlesboro; granddaughters, Sabrina and husband Ernie Parsons, Tazewell, Tabitha Brock, Tazewell, Jessica Brock, Tazewell; grandsons, Cameron Brock, Tanner Brock, Tazewell, Michael Brock, Tazewell; and one great-granddaughter, Hayley Parsons, Tazewell. Funeral services were to be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Shumate Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny Breeding and Billy Gaylor presiding. Music was to be provided by the Church Valley American Christian. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were to be Odell Hoskins, Terry Weaver, Chuck Partin, Wayne McFall, Arnold Ingram, and Shirl Dooley. Shumate Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

WILLIAM �BILL� BROCK, age 78, of Beverly, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2001 at the Pineville Community Hospital.  He was born in Kettle Island, on June 14, 1923, a son of the late Floyd and Lucy Taylor Brock.  He was a believer in the Methodist Faith and had been a school bus driver for the Bell County School System for 53 years.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Shannon and Billy Joe, daughters, Marie Caldwell and Marilyn Joyce Brock, two grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Phronia Lawson, Fannie, Ledford, David and Kitt Brock.
    Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mabel Brock; daughter, Ethel (Connie) Brock, son, Simon Brock, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Ethel Reese, Helen Asher, Ben Brock, Benjamin Lawson and Bonnie Jean Young and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
    Services will be at 2:00p.m. on Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Reed Brock, Rev. Teddy Collett and Rev. Scott Woodworth.  Burial will  be in the Brock Family Cemetery at Beverly.
    Pallbearers will be R.L. Lawson, John Eddie Philpot, Tim Gambrel, Jeff Troxill, Bruce Reed, Eldon  Jr. Asher and Trent Brock.

REV. � ZB� ZACK BROCK, age 102, died Tuesday, December 13, 1988, at the Pineville Community Hospital following a long illness.  He was born in Stoney Fork, KY., on November 21, 1886 to the late Hiram and Mary Overton Brock.  A lifelong resident of this area he was a retired coal miner and farmer.  He had been a Minister of the Holiness faith and a World War 1 Veteran.   He was survived by his wife,  Sarah Gross Brock of Pineville, KY. and his six daughters;   Rosa Marie Spicer of Kokomo, Ind.,    Ethel Taylor of Pineville, KY.,   Cloe Uston of Pineville, KY.,   Clara Singler of Cincinnati, OH.,  Jessie Turner of Daytona, Beach, Fla.,   Shirley Estes of Flat Lick, Ky.,  one sister;    Stella Saylor of East Pineville, Ky.,    two brothers;  James Brock and Dewey Brock of Pineville, KY.,   twenty-nine grandchildren, and forty-six great-grand-children, and five great-great-grand-children, also a host of nieces, nephews and friends.   Services were Thursday, December 15, 1988 at the Straight Creek Pentecostal Church, with Rev. George Neal.  Burial was in the Saylor Cemetery at Brock Hollow, Pineville, KY..  Grandsons and son-in-laws served as pallbearers.  Arnett Funeral Home of Pineville made all of the arrangements.

EDGAR MARTIN (ED) WHEELER, 87, Rt. 2, Ewing, Va., passed away at his home sunday July 27, 1980. He
was born June 11, 1893 in Lee County, Va., and was the son of the late George Wheeler and Lavina Vandaventer.
Mr. Wheeler was a Lee County resident all of his life, a Lee County Merchant for 50 years, and a member
of Walnut Hill Baptist Church.
    He is survived by his wife, Vaude Wheeler, Gibson Station, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Dorothy) Grabeel
of Ewing and Mrs. Eddie (Lois) Carrier of Parisburg, Va.; one son, Wayne Wheeler of Gibson Station; one
daughter-in-law, Hattie Wheeler of Gibson Station; one son-in-law, Gene Grabeel of Ewing,; six grandchildren,
Greg and Jerry Wheeler of Gibson Station, Sharon Carrier of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Franklin (Becky) Odell of Parisburg,
Mrs. Allen (Sandra) Hopper of Cumberland Gap, and Mrs. Kevin (Charlotte) Chadwell of Knoxville, Tenn.; and nine
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, four brothers, and one son-in-law.
    Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 29, 1980 at 2 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Baptist Church at
Gibson Station with Rev. R. C. Tennyson officiating. Music will be by Earl Sumpter and Bobbie Littrell.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers will be Gregory Wheeler, Jerry Wheeler, Kevin Chadwell, Allen hopper, Franklin O'Dell, and
Jimmy Wheeler.
    The body will be taken to the church Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. to lie in state one hur before funeral time.
Creech Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

J.C. WHEELER, 44, prominent resident of gibson Station, Va., died this morning at five o'clock in a local
hospital, as result of an attach of typhoid fever. The funeral was held Friday at the home, with Rev. U. T.
Lingar in charge and burial took place at the Gibson cemetery.
    Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife and one son, Fred and one daughter, Margaret, of Gibson Station, his father,
Jim Wheeler, of Gibson Station, four sisters, Mrs. Dora Arnold, of Middlesboro, Mrs. Ida Crigger, of Harrogate,
Mrs. May Robinson and Mrs. Dora Wright, of Gibson Station, and two brother, J. M. and E. M. Wheeler, of
Gibson Station.

Notes: The obit has some wrong information. It has the wrong name for his father who had already passed and Mary Roberts is his sister not May Robertson.  Kate Ward was his wife.

MAYNARD WHEELER, 72, of Gibson Station, died at Miners Hospital, Middlesboro, Thursday, January 17,
following a brief illness
    He survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Wheeler, Gibson Station; one brother, Ed Wheeler, Gibson Station;
two sisters Mrs. Dora Wright, Gibson Station and Mrs. Ida Crigger, Harrogate, Tenn.; and several nieces and
nephews.
    Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Baptist Church. Burial followed in the
Gibson Cemetery near the church.
