An interesting notation by William E. Railey in the "History
of Woodford County" KY. On pages 280 & 281, he speaks
of the Waddy Thomson family. On page 282, he continues with Gen.
David Thomson and makes this comment: "General David Thomson,
of Scott County, spelled his name as did the Woodford County family
of the name, being a full-blooded Scotchman, and I have been told
by those who have seen members of both branches that there was
a very striking resemblance between them. Both families married
into the Major family, but neither side has been able to trace
relationship if any exists."
