From the "Tell City News" newspaper dated 15 Jan. 1932  :
Last civil war veteran of Leopold Parish passes on.
Isidore Naviaux Dies at the Age of  92 at home of Daughter.

Isadore Naviaux, one of the few remaining soldiers of the great Civil War, passed quietly away at the home of his daughter, Mrs Andrew Goffinet at 10.00 P.M., January 10th, 1932 at the advanced age of 92 years ,and four days.
Mr Naviaux, a native of Belgium, came to this country with his parents when he was quite young. He worked on a farm with them till he was about 23 years old, when he left to enlist in the services of Uncle Sam in the great strife and he made one of the bravest and most courageous soldiers in Co G 93 Inf. experiencing many hardships in the three years that he served.
When the war was over and he was mustered out, he came home to his parents, but did not remain with them long, before the year was over he and his former sweetheart, a neighbor girl, Mary Belva, entered upon the sea of matrimony. They settled on a small farm and by hard work and excellent management accumulated much of the word's goods. But this was not all, they reared a family of six children, namely : Joseph and Narcisse, who died in early manhood; August, Henry, Mrs Adolph Foury and Mrs. Andrew Goffinet, prominent citizens of Leopold Township, in the neighborhood where they were reared.
Mr. Naviaux and his good wife lived together on the farm until about fifteen years ago when the good angel called his mate to her heavenly reward. Since that time he made home practically all the tirne with his youngest daughter where he died.
The remains were brought to Leopold on Tuesday, January 12, where they were held In the Catholic Church, Interment In St. Augustine's Cemetery.
