Notes:  the Saint-Vincent (Bellefontaine) birth registers are not available at FamilySearh for the years between 1836 and 1850, the birth dates are from de decennal indexes and don't gives the name of the parents. There were 12 children born between 1838 and 1850, so the dates given are maybe not the right dates.
A Nicolas Lemaire, born about 1804 is in the New Orlans death registers, dated July 9, 1857
A Joseph Lemaire born Belgium about 1846, a gardener, enlisted in the US Army on July 1, 1868 at Jackson barracks, Louisiana for 3 years and was in the Army till 1886. He filled a pension application in 1888 in Missouri and his widow, Alma, another one in 1909 in Texas
A John Baptiste Lemaire, born about 1836, Belgium, lived in New Orleans in 1880, a gardener, with Barbe, his wife born Alsace, France and three children Lena born about 1875, J. B. born about 1878 and Florant born about 1880
