This information was added by Brenda Lenk at the Flamion family trees at Ancestry. It's fhe first page of a manuscript :
The Flamion family came from Suxy (pronounced Soo-see), Belgium, a tiny village in the southern tip of Belgium. This is in the canton (county) of Etalle in the province of Luxemburg and is at the edge of the Ardennes Forest. It is 10 miles North of Florenville and 20 miles N.W. of Chantemelle. Chantemelle is 18 miles N.E. of Virton. An ancient Roman Cemetery is 1 mile S.E. of Chantemelle at the tiny village of Chenois and there is where the Crest or Coat-of-Arms was found at the grave of Count Louis de Flamion. This stone crest is now at the museum Gaumais in Virton and in the USA, an account of it is in the New York City Public Library, 42nd & 5th Ave. Catalog n° L 10-8652, Vol.1-7-1940-6.

Emmanuel and Anne Josephine (Lisoir, pronounced Lize-wah) Flamion left Suxy, Belgium (arrived in Leopold) November 17, 1850. They had been married on Feb. 10,  1860. They came to Leopold, Indiana in perry County, - 15 miles north of Tell City and the Ohio River. Anne Josephine was originally from a town called Bellevue. When they first arrived they lived in the vicinity of Snake Branch (around Bristow, Ind.), later moving to where Apalona now is, and lived where Bertha Hubert (p. 7A) now lives. Later they moved to the farm that is known as the Johnnie Hubert (p. 5A) place. The U.S. Government now owns this land. They lived there until the children were all grown, then they moved to where Bandon is now and their house was where the new home of Jerry and Patty (Pfeifer) Smith has recently been built. The road at that time was where old highway 37 still is. During the time they lived in Bandon they moved briefly to Kenmundie in Illinois where two of their daughters had gone to live, but they came back when Emmanuel took Maleria Fever. And he remarked on returning that in Ill. he couldn't raise enough farm products to pay for the medicine to fight the Maleria.
He worked mostly at farming, but for a time was a laborer, helping to build the Dam at Leavensworth, Ind, walking there on Monday morning (a distance of about 30 miles) and walking home again on Saturday evening. In his older years he wovemany baskets, using hickory plits he had cut.
