§  Peter Camper/Campion from Antwerp, born about 1822, enlisted 11 May 1852 at Baltimore in the 4th Infantry Co. E. Discharged at expiration of service, 11 May 1857, at Fort Jones California, he reenlisted as Peter Cemper in San Francisco July 20, 1857 in the 3rd Artillery Co. H. but was discharged for disability at Fort Umpgar Oregon Territory, a Private “recruit”. 

A Peter Campeon (Campian or Campean) enlisted in the first California Infantry in Sacramento, California, on August 26, 1861 and was mustered out at Los Pinos, New Mexico on August 31, 1864, expiration of term of service. 

A Peter Campion from Antwerp, born about 1819,  enlisted 17 December 1864 at Los Pinos New Mexico in the 5th Infantry, Co. G and deserted August 17, 1867. 

No other trace, either in the Censuses or in the Ship Manifests of emigrants.

 

§  John Beande, 32 y. o., from Antwerp, a sailor, enlisted in New York 13 April 1864 in the 4th Infantry. Deserted, no date given and not assigned to a Company. No further records.

 

§  Edward De Hilder. 30 years old, from Namur. Occupation: musician. Enlisted on April 1, 1865 at Franklin, Texas in the 5th Infantry Post Band. Discharged April 1, 1868, expiration of service at Fort Leavenworth Kansas a Musician. Went to Mora, New Mexico were he married and settled. A schoolteacher in 1880. Died between 1890 and 1900.
