Occupation |
John Hamman (Hammond) a cooper, single, residence subsequent to discharge: Canton, Ohio, his nearest relative in 1895, his nephew: Joseph Hamman, 110 Grove Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. He was rather 30 y.o. at enlistment, more matching with the censuses and the age given in the Soldier’ Home. John Haman was already settled in Stark County before 1850 as he is listed in the 1850 census in Plain township, a cooper, 18 years old. Ten year latter he was still in Stark county, in Canton, with his brother Jacob and wife, Susan born Ohio, and nephew and nieces: May 2 y.o., Joseph 1 y.o. and a newborn Peter. Just near them Peter Haman 32 y.o. and Elizabeth 60 y.o. Another brother and their mother, I suppose.
Admitted Central branch in July 1895 till December Re-admitted in September 1900 till 1904. North West branch from July 1904 till January 1905, back to Central branch in January 1905. He died March 6, 1911, buried Home cemetery Section Q, Row 12 Grave 20.
