Biography :

Emile Fraipont from Brussels. He filled a pension application on August 25, 1865 for gun shot wound right arm. On September 29, 1865 Emile Fraipont filled a declaration of Intent for Naturalization before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

He married in Albany, on June 16, 1870, Amelia Hoyt, born December 25, 1850, daughter of William Turner Hoyt. In the 1870 census he is listed as a fire insurance clerk, 32 y.o., from France in  the same house as Edward Walsh, clerk in State Department, Albany. Sooner, in the Albany 1868 directory, he is listed as clerk, Ins. Dept. State Hall.

In 1871, when entering the North-Western Branch of National Home for disabled volunteers soldiers, he state living in New York City and as nearest relative Millie Fraipont, wife, 44 Philips Street, Albany. When entering the Southern Branch in Virginia in October 1877 he stated as his nearest relative Lambert L. in Paris, France, his father.  In his last entries in the Central Branch, no relatives were filled. In know nothing after his last departure from the Soldiers' House. An Emile Fraipont 22 y. o. was on the ship Catherine, arrival in New York June 21, 1857.
