Biography :
on board ship "Garland" ; butcher; Pierre Heyvarts settled in Boston after his discharge, suffering of a gunshot wound in left eye destroying sight of that eye and impairing right by “sympathetic” inflammation so that he had little use of it, following the information given when entering the National Home for Disabled Volunteers in 1869, Togus, Maine. His last entry was for 1873.
