Biography :
13 May 1863, wound at the throat caused by a piece of shell, during the battle of Jackson, Mississippi (wich bursted near him, at this time, E. Devillez was a few feet from him )
Also complained of diarrhea during de siege of Vicksburg
sick in quarters October 16-17, 1863 Dysentry
Intermitent fever : March 7, 1864 et 8 also 15-16, 25-27
William had to be sent in convalescent camp in May 1864.
nothing for Spring 1865
- contracted chronic diarrhea in Alabama, Spring 1865 during the march from Mobile to Montgomery Alabama. Cannot march with the company and had not recovered his health when he arrived at home
